It's that time a year again!

The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer and cooler. FALL...My favorite time of year..

Fall brings things like Football, the changing colors of the leaves, the smell of wood burning in the distance...and in my case, it brings the mice!!!

Living in the country, I battle the mice all the time. They go away for awhile, but this time of year, they come back in full force. I have set traps, left poison, and even tried those pest control sonar thingys. I know this is disgusting, but one year I set about 8 traps all over the kitchen, and within minutes, we heard POP! POP! POP! Three mice had met their demise. That weekend I think we got close to 16 mice! After that, I stick to the poison, even though I hate the smell of dead mouse!

My mice are very bold creatures. They don't wait until everyone's asleep to come out and play. Oh NO, they just come out whenever they please. Once my soon2bx and I were in the kitchen, and I saw one come up out of the stove. He ran across the counter and jumped onto a plate that had a piece of bacon left over from breakfast. Now he didn't just sit and eat it there, that sucker took that whole slice of bacon back down into the stove with him! I just stood there and laughed at his antics. My soon2bx thought I was I'm sure he and his family ate well that day! The other day I realized that I needed to put some more poison out when I saw two babies playing around my bedroom door!

It's a good thing I'm not afraid of those little rodents. I just don't want them in my house!

Hope you all have a good Sunday...I'm off to the library.

I think they are rather cute critters ( but nasty) and I don't want them in the house either. But once I held some little white ones in a pet store, and since I have held them, they don't scare me anymore. Their little feet are very soft and delicate. Seems a shame to have to kill them, but, you can't have them running all over the kitchen either. I haven't seen one in my house, but they get in my Mom's house real bad.

I used to have a pet mouse when I was in college. They are cool when they are in a cage. I just don't want them running across my plate when I'm trying to eat!

I can relate! I had a huge mouse problem in years past....they were everywhere....even the silverware drawer! I had to wash my silverware almost every single day till I got it under control! Yikes!

The most important appliance in my house the dishwasher is at the repaiman right now because mice have chewed through the plastic tank that holds the water.
I am starting to wonder why I feed two cats that can't catch mice.

Where I work we have tons of little mole's outside. They'll come in under a garrage door & go sneeking around the hanger. The Orkin guy is there almost weekly setting sticy traps all over. they'll get caught in the sticky stuff & an hour later there gone! We havent figured out how they end up missing yet.

Ewww, ewww, and EEEEKKKK!!!!
I can't stand mice in my house! I grew up in an old country farm house with 18 inch thick walls where all the mice in the county took up residence each fall. The worse was when my mom would leave dishwater in the sink overnight and we would find a mouse floating in it come morning. Used to just gross me right out.
I love the fall also. Today was near perfect, cool temps, not much sun and a light drizzle all day. I was in heaven!
