listening versus hearing

When someone is talking to you, do you just listen or do you hear what they are saying? I'm trying to buy a car. I currently have a minivan, I'm trying to downsize but with 3 kids (one still in a carseat). I'm having trouble finding a car that they can all fit into the back seat of since they are all younger and I can't have them in the front with an airbag. This is my complaint. I told my friend Steve (the salesman) That I needed a big back seat...he shows me 5 cars, not one damn car would hold all three of my kids. why the hell don't people take the time and listen? If you are talking to someone don't you want them to hear what you are saying? Otherwise whats the point of talking? I might as well talk to the damn wall...

strange , last time i went and looked for a car i told the salesguy i needed affordable payments even before i arrived on the lot.imagine my suprise when he brings out my low monthly payment of "either" 439.00 a month , or 395.00 a month depending how long i wanted financing.needless to say i left emptyhanded.

I think car salesmen all go to the same school for the deaf! You say one thing and they hear something totally different! They're like vampires trying to suck your finances dry! Aren't station wagons big enough on the back seat department?

umm, I will not buy a station wagon (yuck), I need to travel in the snow and ice in the winter, I need something that will get me to work in one piece.
