OMG - i cant believe how long i have left it between blog posts!

Whats going on? Well quite a lot really. You don't go a few months through life with nothing happening.

Whats more is thats its nearly xmas!, where has this year gone?

Well work is still very slow, but while still taxiing i have also started worm farming. Which sounds potty but i have the perfect place here to do that. And i can do it alonge side anyting else i want to do.

Also had a date that ended the worst way possible lol. She stormed off after i told her she was inconsiderate and rude! But hey she deserved it, so she got told.

Going again for now, but no doubt i will be back again soon now i have started again.

European Human rights on Gender! - About time!

DUBLIN, Ireland:
Ireland violated European human rights law by refusing to give a transsexual a new birth certificate recording her new gender and name, a Dublin judge ruled Friday in a landmark judgment.

The ruling by High Court Justice Liam McKechnie was the first time that an Irish judge has found Ireland in violation of the European Convention on Human Rights. It means the government of Prime Minister Bertie Ahern must pass legislation amending the law or risk a lawsuit in the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.

The unemployed dentist had been registered at birth as male, but after surgery is now female from a psychological and physical point of view, the High Court was told yesterday.

Dr Lydia Foy of Páirc Bhríde, Athy, Co Kildare, was given leave by Miss Justice Laffoy to challenge a refusal by the Registrar General to correct the entry relating to her sex on her birth certificate from male to female. The action is also being taken against Ireland and the Attorney General.

Mr Bill Shipsey SC, for Dr Foy, said that his was female at birth but suffered from a gender identity disorder called transsexualism. She was given a male name because of the mistake made at birth.

Gender reassignment surgery was carried out in 1992 and she was now a female. She was born on June 23rd, 1947.

He said that transsexualism was a recognised medical condition worldwide. Having the genitalia of a male did not mean one was in fact male.

His wanted to have quashed the decision taken by the Registrar General to refuse to correct the entry by changing it from Donal Mark to Lydia Annice.

She was also seeking a declaration that the practice of using biological indicators existing at the time of birth to determine sex for the purposes of registration was ultra vires (outside the powers) of the Births and Deaths Registration (Ireland) Act 1863, as amended, and the 1880 regulations setting out the duties of registrars.

In an affidavit, Dr Foy said that she was, at birth, a congenitally disabled woman. She was suffering from an undiagnosed disability, namely gender identity disorder, commonly known as transsexualism.

As a result of her condition, she underwent surgery in July, 1992. The doctor who carried out the surgery stated in a letter that she was now physically female.

Prior to the surgery, she was from a psychiatric point of view considered to be female. In a letter from another doctor, it was stated that he examined her in July, 1992, prior to surgery. He was satisfied that she was a male to female transsexual.

He recommended that, subsequent to her surgery, she be considered both from the surgical and psychiatric viewpoint as being a person of female gender.

In November, 1993, she changed her name by way of deed poll from Donal Mark Foy to Lydia Foy. On February 15th, 1993, she was issued with a fresh passport stating her sex to be female.

For various purposes she was obliged to produce a copy of her birth certificate. Consequently, for those purposes she was necessarily considered to be male. This was a considerable source of frustration and embarrassment. She was from birth female.

The refusal of the Registrar to consider the recording of her sex at birth as male to be an error was based on theories which were considered to be outdated from a social, medical and scientific point of view. Dr Foy said that sex could not be considered from a biological point of view only. There was nothing in the 1863 Act or in the regulations that required sex to be determined by biological criteria only.

Her sex was central to her personality and aspirations. While she was, from a psychological point of view, female from birth, she had nonetheless committed herself to reassigning her genital sexual characteristics by way of major surgery and drug therapy over an extended period. Her sex was now confirmed as female.

The refusal of the Registrar to take account of her situation and/or the failure of the legislative framework to allow for her birth certificate to reflect her correct sex and, as a corollary, to allow for the male name mistakenly given to her to be changed, constituted a serious violation of her constitutionally protected rights to privacy, dignity and equality.

Online Lying, look at my examples and see what you think

Is someone who has a split personality lying about themselves if they came and talked to people as their different guises?

Another slightly different angle again, if in their heart someone is differnt to their physical gender, is that then a lie if online where people can not see physical traits they portray who they really are?

There are lots of people who for lots of reasons may feel like something differnt to how someone on the street would see them. But the real personality is what you get online, is the personality or the physical person the real liar?

Today i have done a lot of reading in the forum and blogs. So if you read this and think its about you, it may well be or at least in part.

Why oh why are people so bothered about who see's what they write. If you don't want people to be able to read what you are saying don't put it in a public forum.

As soon as you put something in a public forum, you are going to get people who don't agree with you, people who don't like you, people who do like you, people who will watch you never say a word.

This issues of not seeing someone if you have blocked them. What is that all about? If someone is interested enough in me for what ever the reason to continually watch my i want to know who they are and exactly how often they do it. Knowledge is power, just because you cant see it doesn't means things don't happen.

Moving swiftly on, why do some people feel that something is personal when they get encompassed by a category. I fall into many category's, one of them being bi-sexual. Someone is perfectly entitled to say they don't believe bisexuality exists. This is not a personal attack on me, its an opinion being expressed about a feeling.

Even if they said all bi people are lying cheating bastards its not personal. It only becomes personal when they say greg_yorksire_uk is a lying cheating bastard.

Even if they do say something very personal like that, why get upset about it? Either they can justify their comments or they can't. If they can then maybe you should accept the criticism or insult leveled at you. If they can't they will be show up for exactly what they are without you ever saying a negative word about them.

Lets face it, how important is the opinion of a relative stranger really. Not very, now if friends and people you care about start saying things you don't like then i can understand that upsetting you. But again, if they do this maybe you should sit back and listen!

Live and let live people, we are all different, all have different opinions and moral standings. All this you can't say that because it will up set someone is killing our right to free speech! - Please don't let that happen!

Define Love - What is love to you?

For this post please limit your asnwers to romantic love. The kind you feel towards your partner/s.

We all have differen ideas about what love is. I am just interested to hear what it means to you.

This is my own answer:

Love for me is 100% trust and faith in somone. Combine that with finding that persons company pleasing, a desire to please them and make them happy.

A desire to know all there is to know about someone. To not only accept their quirks and oddities but to cherish them as part of what makes them unique.

Its that point when you feel completley comfortable with someone, when there are no secrets. Its the point that your continued relationship is worth more than the hard times that always come along for everyone.

Its knowing each other well enough to speak frankly and sometimes harsly if needed without fear of it doing ereprable damage. Because the person is saying it only becasue it needs saying and not out of anger or frustration.

Its desire, its company, its belief, its acceptance, its cherishing, its complete unrequented trust.

Online love - a reality or a fantasy?

Ok, exactley what the title asks.

Is it possible to fall in love with someone you have only had online contact with.

I will be honest from the start, i am extreemly sceptical about this. For me to love someone you need to know you can trust them.

I dont see how that trust level can be obtained in such a limited medium as online conversations. Even when this involves video and audo i still doubt it. There is just not enough body language visable to really see if they are telling you the truth.

However, i know that plenty of people do fall in love or believe they fall in love from just online conversations.

No matter what your opinion or perspective on this subject, come plant your opinions here. Just be prepared to have said veiw point challanged. Becasue i or someone else shurley will do just that.
