Mrs. Smoking

Mr.&Mrs. quitting together, but we will do our blogs separate. Today is day 2 for me. Day1/4 cigarettes. Day2/ 2 cigarettes. How do I keep from gaining weight? Not rich, so I can't afford all the healthy food. I have lost 80 pounds in the 10 years we have been married,and don't want to go back. Day3/ smoked one last night after my blog. My husband and I made love, then my AdultFriendFinder guy came over. After both of them, I HAD to smoke one. Been up since 3:30 A.M., not one yet.

I'm no expert on quitting but in my experience sucking on hard sugarless candy and clove is the best way to prevent weight gain. As I understand it, the major reasons for weight gain are: being able to taste (enjoy) food more. Thus, the clove will help "numb" the taste buds. The other reason is that the ex-smoker is not used to the new taste in his/her mouth. In an attempt to change that taste, the ex-smoker tends to eat. The solution to this is the sugar-free candy.

I wish you luck

I smoke but I did quit 2 years ago for 13 months as you know I used the patches. I lost 12 lbs. when I quit. Everytime I wanted to smoke I drand a glass of water and if I still wanted to smoke I either walked or exercized. Got that advice from a Doc. It worked...now only to get back on the wagon (grrrr) {=}

I will be so interested in seeing how well you both do at quitting. I wish you the absolute best and know you can do it. I've been smoking since I was 12 years old and am 41 now. Believe it or not, a baby sitter got me started. She told me I could stay up and watch scary movies if I would practice smoking with her. I did and I've not stopped since. I would love to stop and am pulling for the both of you. I know you can do it! Once I know what to expect from reading your blog, maybe I'll be on the way to quitting too. I would just love that!!! Best wishes to you!!!
