Realistic Conversation

Can someone tell me why is it when you mention the words safe sex, proof of your D/F status, everything get's silent and un interesting. Well it's the first question on my mind and it needs to be addressed. Yes, I am on AdultFriendFinder for sex, fun, and adventure but not with standing safety. Is it too much to ask to prove your health status? Especially when the asking party is proving hers. Of course we will use condoms and/or other safe measures but isn't it a whole lot better when you know the person (s) you are getting down with is just as precautious and safe as you are. Sex becomes much more fulfilling and easier-comfortable. Not a worrisome, mind boggling escapade. I don't care about what you had in the past but what you HAVE NOW. (Well unless it was Genital Herpes) Which affects 70% of Americans, by the way. D/F=disease free--lol Condoms does break sometimes. Safety is my pet peeve.

A good test before hand is not only safe, but it's easy. Places like LabSafe and others allow a complete test. There is nothing wrong with having a current test on file - especially for the bigs (HIV/Hep). As far as HSV, the only hitch is that the testing method anymore is pretty crap. This is because while in the past, people associated HSV-2 = Genital Herpes, and HSV-1 equals cold sores, etc. the rise of oral sex in the world has led to genital HSV1 (check WebMD). The tests are "fairly" effective, but unless that person is in the middle of an outbreak, there is still chances that the tests are not as accurate as you would like. So, while you'll almost never get a "false positive" you can get a "false negative".

But being tested for the big issues is quick and easy. It's free if you're willing to wait for the results at most government county health centers, and it's not that big of a cost if you need to know quickly. And, if you need to know "right now" there is a widely available instant HIV test which is used in Africa and a few other places, but not yet approved here except in a few rare cases. But that test is damn near instant.

So, the options are out there. You are always much better safe then sorry!
