Little mosaic tiles

I'm tiling my bathroom at the moment. I've got those lovely stylish looking mosaic tiles which are blue with hints of white. The work has given me a new insight into the work that the Romans had to put into their villas.
Respect to them all. Little tiles take an age to apply and a great deal of patience. Looks great but boy is it tedious.

On another note I was making a pasta dish last night and decided to cheat with one of thos pasta sauces that come in a jar. The lid was one of those poor ones that comes off rather too easily leaving you with the feeling that you should have paid a little more attention to the pop-up bit on the lid.
Anyway it looked and smelt ok so after testing some on the cat who hasn't keeled over yet i decide to use it anyway.
My question is this though. We have pop-up lids and seals to discourage tampering/poisoners. What about all the other foods we buy that can still be tampered with from eggs, meat, loose vegetables, apples and pick-n-mix?

Ohh, and another one....small tins of food like beans n sausages. I presume the core market for these products is the elderly. Why then are the easy open lids so impossible to open? And why are tinned sausages always dull with less flavour than a mouthful of plaster? I feel that the canning process must rob the sausage of its flavour.

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.
