Crazy Weekend, New Leaf

Well, it was a crazy weekend, complete with two sunrises, tons of partying and catching up with old friends, and one pretty good show at Red Rocks, which is one of, if not the, most beautiful places in the country to see a show. Sometime during the second set, in the middle of a really good, mellow Terrapin Station, I had sort of a little epiphany (this same thing actually happened to me once before, about six years ago, at a Phil show, and led me to Colorado). It occurred to me that I'm 25, a college dropout with only 3 classes to finish, and working basically a dead-end job, and that furthermore I'm taking no steps to better my situation.
So, this morning (yesterday was reserved for curing a hangover and watching the Red Sox, who lost and are now only half a game up on the dreaded Yankees) I got up and went down to CU, paid off my overdue tuition, and signed up for the three classes I need to graduate. After eight years, I should finally be a college grad by Christmas. After that, I came home and cleaned up my house, mowed the lawn (which was getting pretty unruly) and booked a plane ticket to Boston for September, which will allow me to see a couple of good friends before they leave for a one-year trip to New Zealand. Also, I've never seen my little brother play football, but he's been wearing my old number at my old high school for three years, and this year will be his last, so I'm going to catch a game while I'm back east. So, things are looking up; it's about damn time I got my shit together. Now to find a girl...
