Let's take a look at the "Testimonial", shall we?

tes暗i搶o搖i戢l ( P )
Pronunciation Key (tst-mn-l)n.
1) A written affirmation of another's character or worth; a personal recommendation.
2) Something given in appreciation of a person's service or achievement; a tribute.
3) A statement in support of a particular truth, fact, or claim.

I've seen members with tons of em. You know the ones I'm talkin about... 400 Network Friends and about half of them have left a testimonial saying, "WOW, this person is HOT. Would LOVE to be with you.", or, "Unbelievable body, you must be the most beautiful woman/man on AdultFriendFinder."

I guess if someone admires another's profile/pics then indeed they should express it. Personally...I just happen to think that's what emails are for.

I'm thinking a testimonial, should be a way to help differentiate between those who give you the impression they're going to meet you and those who may actually meet you. Testimonials touting one's beauty and the author's desire to be with them certainly feed the ego but do little for those who are trying to avoid playing e.mail tag or clicking on a link.

I'm just so NOT about the boast. I simply like when real people can make real, informed choices and a real testimonial can certainly help...don't ya think? That's the reason I don't post one unless someone's been there and has somethin to say about it - ALL good, I hope!

Anyway...thanks for letting me Blah, Blah, Blog... J

I just hope I don't offend anyone, certainly NOT my intention...just wanted to express my own opinion. After all, that's what this forum is for, right?! Off to work now, but will check out your profile/blog later today!

Thanks for stopping by!

As a non paying member of this site, I can't e-mail you. However, I do admire your picture. If I could email that message to you I would - but I'll have to post that comment here. Welcome to blogville.

not to mention that ones ego is hardly an enlightening trait, it will never provide compassion or understanding, and such knowledge is vital in allowing our individual differences to promote creation in place of conformity. it's in our best interest as individuals and as a species that we allow ourselves to live beyond the self imposed slavery of pride and ego.

a great first post, and welcome.

it is your world to blah, blah, blog in. so thank you for sharing your thoughts, it's what makes the world go round.

Thank you for being a lady. You are a hundred percent correct. A testimonial is something given after the fact. You allowed me to grace your presences and we have a great time together. I would then be able to write a testimonial about you. It would be based on facts not suppositions. Have faith, there are some intelligent men on this site. I'm only sorry that I do not meet your criteria for a possible meeting.

Hello, welcome to the blogs from a fellow NJ Blogger.
Good point on the testimonials. It certainly is nice to see a testimonial given after an actual meeting. I'm sure women appreciate seeing one on a man's profile.
I invite you to keep blogging. There are lots of wonderful people to get to know like AngelofMercy5 above.
There is a central Jersey Bloggers group you can join. We have already had one social outing. Just folks getting together for dinner and dancing.
Have fun.

Finally !!! Someone on this site (blog jmb5960) has the capability to put it all out there, as eloquently as the body her brain caps off i might add), and walk away holding her head high. BRAVO !!

Seems to me you are correct. Just how the hell can you make a testimonial without actually meeting the person?
Comments would be a much better heading otherwise.
Keep on looking fantastic jmb5960, you make me happy to know that God made such a beautiful and complete person!

Amen!! I'm so sick of seeing testimonials that read, "She's so hot, I'd love to have my way with her!". No fooling, you and everybody else! That tells me nothing about her reliability, personality or anything else. Testimonials should only be allowed to be given if a couple has met. If AdultFriendFinder can find a way to prove a couple has indeed met and only allow a "verified" testimonial, it would be more like an Ebay feedback which only occurs when a transaction has happened.

Right on smiley! Glad you agree! Thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment!

You're so right. People will give testimonials, but with an alterior motive. IE, to meet the sey lady they are saying is soooo hot. And dont you think we over use the word friend? I mean, the definition of a friend is not a drinking or fuck buddy...but someone who is virtually family. Hope to discuss this with u one day in person...damn those alterior motives.

I guess 1/2 the people on here think that if they write something like that and want it posted as a testimonial, they maybe they'd have a better shot at actually hooking up. And 1/2 of the other 1/2 probably don't know what the actual definition of the word testimonial is. So that leaves 25% who are literate and aren't especially desperate. Sorry state of affairs, huh. But that mkes the world better for the rest of us.

Yes I absolutely agree with your statement. A testimony is to confirm that person or couple is as real as their profile claims. I block all testimonials unless its from someone I have had the privilege of meeting personally.

Good 4 U Brad! Thx for your comment. Btw, I love that you use the term "privilege of meeting"...classy.

Thank you for your post. It seems that althought I am clear about my intentions married men feel free to try anyway. Karma is all I can say to the married dudes. Why is it that they are always bankers in baseball caps and bad shoes???

I checked out your testimonials. 22 real life encounters with AdultFriendFinder guys. Amazing. So much bullshit on this site, it's refreshing to see a real "likes to fuck." woman. You are awesome by the way. Worthy of any hedonist's admiration.

You should post some of your sexual adventures on your blog for those of us who will never be fortunate enough to experience you. Or are you are you a girl who kisses & doesn't tell.

I would be honored if you stopped by and checked out my blog. I think you might get a kick out of it. - Rick

I agree with you. A lot of people use them as an ego booster.
Most testimonials should be from people you have met in person.
To let other people know who you are and what real people think about you and you think about them.
