icy mint flavored flows creep over my
driveway and sidewalk, swallow the
mail-carrier and then at least I stop
getting those stupid catalogs. Small
price to pay, I guess. Glaciers crawl
slowly slowly, lawn to sidewalk to pavement
to sidewalk, engulf that yappy dog, and
chilled silence is all that's left. Slip
slip slippery sliding along, over the top,
'til you fall through the cracks and you
too are swallowed up, to be uncovered
the next millenium when the ice age retreats.
