What do you think?

I found this quote on a website disscussing the benifits and downfalls of being single...

"...sex without intimacy is like eating candy -- it's not sustenance for the soul, and usually leaves you with a stomach ache the next morning."

What do you think... at times I would agree with this, because I love being intimate with who I have sex with even as I choose to remain single, I feel like I need to show intimacy. Not so much for the other person as for myself. I love cuddling and kissing and snuggling and all that warm, fuzzy shit. Some people may misconstrue intimacy with love, or commitment, but I view it as just another form of pleasure. However, in a serious relationship intimacy takes on a whole lot more meaning, and I think it's much more necessary.

My thoughts and opinions?

I say, aim with your heart on this one...

...do what makes you happy and what feels right to YOU! It's part of your pleasure, if you have a partner that doesn't like the kissing, snuggling, hugging, etc. then find one that doesn't mind it.

You are right, in a serious relationship intimacy holds a much deeper meaning. Call me "weird" but I think that rather then the 'physical intimacy' that you have with a partner/s during sexual experiences that involve touching, kissing, snuggling, and so on, there's also a 'psycological intimacy' and 'spiritual intimacy' that you share in a serious relationship.

Because of the dynamics of intimacy in general, it can be very easy for some to see 'love', in the traditional relationship sense, as part of 'physical intimacy' when in fact it's actually a part of 'spiritual intimacy'.

...again, just my opinion.

I love being intimate with who I have sex also. I am single. I feel I need to show intimacy for both parties. I love cuddling and kissing and snuggling also. Some people can not differentiate intimacy and love.
