Hi Fidelity #000006

Top *10* Movies in the history of life, the universe, and EVERYTHING.

10. The Princess Bride - Quite easily the greatest achievement by Mel Brooks. Inconceivable!
9. Fight Club - Excellent acting on behalf of Ed Norton and Brad Pitt. The movie was quite well adapted from the book
8. Caddyshack - How could a top ten list of movies be allowed passage without the original "King of Comedy". If it wasn't for Chevy's acting in this movie Ryan Reynalds would be flipping burgers somewhere.
7. Confidence - Obliterates "The Sting" as the greatest con movie ever. Similes the poorly written and directed "House of Games"
6. Swingers - Vince Vaughn at his best. Greatly parodies the getting back into the groove phase after a long relationship
5. The Seven Samurai - Akira Kurosawa's classic samurai tale. If you've never seen it, get your reading glasses and make it a weekend.
4. Donnie Darko - As a clandestine remake of "The Last Temptation of Christ" this movie is one that will give you hours of discussion after.
3. Apocalypse Now - An all star cast all in the prime of their lives along with an exceptional story make this one of the top 3 movies of all time.
2. Office Space - The ultimate CULT movie
1. The Great Escape - 3 things: Steve McQueen, James Garner, Epic.

And for the person who forced me to rack my brain with this I dedicate a song (You'll just have to guess all the details):

Locked up inside you like gold beneath castles.
Cavern of treasures that no one has been to.
Let's go digging, let's go digging, bring it out, and take it back in.
You won't do what you’d like to do.
Lay back and let me show you another way.
Kill what you want to, I’ll take what’s left and eat it.
Take over nothing, just too short to push it away.
Take it all. take it all in.
All the way in. all the way in. let it go in. let it go in.
You won’t feel what you’d like to feel.
Lay back and let me show you another way.

Four degrees warmer...

another great movie by Kurosawa is Yojimbo, and its the basis for the Bruce Willis "Last Man Standing". Kurosawa is credited for part of the writing of LMS, but the original version is far better.

Glad you came by, thanks for posting.

he went the spoken album way. now he's a liberalism/socialism activist. Sad to see, for me at least, but it comes as no suprise. I think he may have even sued the old band.
