A little perspective goes a long way.

Today started off realitively good, got up read a few blogs, got a few laughs, even got a response to my first post. Thanks to angelofmercy5 for that. But let me ask you, did you ever know one of those guys that has all the bells and whistles on his car. I mean EVERYTHING, cd players, dvd players, gps, and speakers that would rival a "Stones" concert. You know the guys I'm talking about, not that there's anything wrong with it, I was one once myself. My deal was motor's, especially the old chevy 350 small blocks. Rebuilding them, tricking them out, carb's, rebore, new tranny's. I've worked on so many chevy pickups, I can dismantle the whole drive train with my eye's closed. I loved it, except when they break. Working on a brokedown motor is a really crappy job, and that's what I'm doing now. Trickin them out is fun, but working on this piece of shit I drive now SUCKS. It's an old Subaru that is just basic transportation. I was outside, sweaty, aggravated, with busted knuckles, when the phone rang. It was my daughter calling from Afghanistan. It seems her unit is in Bagram for a few days for a refit. On the way there a Hummer broke down, and they had to sit on the side on the road for 3 hours waiting for a wrecker to tow it in. Sitting in 120-130 degree heat, 50-70% humidity in full battle rattle, (body armour, helmets, weapons at the ready) for that amount of time would have to a real bitch. %-P(Make no mistakes about it ladies and gentlemen, in her unit the women fight right along side the men, contrary to what the common misconception about the Army is.) So that really put my job in a new perspective, it won't be so bad, I mean while I'm working tomorrow nobody will be shooting at me with AK-47, RPG's or mortars. I know that I don't have to worry about her for a few days, she'll be safe till she leaves. So I quess a little perspective goes a long way.
