Impressionable Impressions

The title is but an alliterative allusion and the fact that my handle begins with 'I'. I suppose it means I need to throw out some impressions I have had with this site as say compared to a writing site I frequent, or a Star Wars collector's site. Nope. Cannot really compare? But it is just as well. It is hard to imagine most Star Wars fans naked without going into apoplectic shock, so I will end that topic right now. (shudder)

Back to impressions, eh? I suppose it is safer than the old days of personals in the paper, and less louder than the bar scene. However, I generally prefer to see most people with most of their clothes on, especially men. Clicking the wrong button on a search can be traumatizing. 'Welcome to the valley of the penises'... yeesh. Perhaps I am a little old fashioned, but in the end I do not care much. If it gives you power and makes you happy, then by all means, go for it (so long as it does not infringe upon the rights of others, and yes I know that can be far too broadly interpreted these days). Again, back to the old fashioned, but I am very surprised by the number of people on the site. But you might say 'Well, you are on the site, Chris(that would be me)'. Yes, but to look at me I might deserve to be on this site. I have seen a lot of profiles that have no business being on this site, and I do mean that it in the best possible way. And one might think, 'Well, if you feel this way, why?'. Why here? Why not? I was bored, maybe. Sometimes when you project into the universe, it answers. Other times, it laughs with you, or at you, or possibly near you. So, as impressions go, I am somewhat surprised, non-plussed, pleased, and weirded out all at once. A lot of emotions, true, but I have a good range.

Now, as to the frequency of these entries, who knows? I might add a few here and there, but you will not see any from about 2/15 to 2/27 at the least, since I will be at consecutive anime conventions in Washington DC (Katsucon) and Orlando (Megacon... technically not an anime convention, very multi-genre, but caters heavily to anime fans). After I get back, I am sure to have something to say about the trip.

As to the rest, well, most days are good, others passable. I have seen the bad days, and so passable is the worst applicable word for now. Oh, the title of the blog, 'Walking the Long Road' is a Babylon 5 reference. If you have never seen the series, try and watch it. It is a bit dated now (the CGI, while great in the mid-90's is not so great now) but has one of the best story arcs ever. Admittedly, I am quite biased, but don't we all have our biases. I might also recommend the show 'Sleeper Cell' if you have Showtime, and the new 'Battlestar Galactica' has been the best show on TV the past 2 years (sorry, 'Lost' fans... love the show, but the scifi nerd in me digresses .

Alright, enough for now. I suspect I might get philosophical before too long, and that might well end poorly in my current mood.

Take care to my many fans (crickets chirping)
C.

Thanks for stopping by... I will certainly add more when I get back from my trip.
