I Need to Get Some

Mr. Bambi here...

Have you ever had a "Just Because Day" - one of those special days that you pick at random to honor your partner? Yesterday I did just that. I cancelled a few client meetings and set my sights towards the mall.

I didn't have anything specific in mind that I wanted to buy but I knew if I passed the right thing during my window shopping something would jump out at me. My first stop was at one of those "girly bubble bath" stores. I purchased the basket of bubble bath, body oil, and some other stuff - all vanilla scented.

As I walked out of the store, the sales lady remarked "this scent is popular with a lot of men." I didn't know how to take the comment so I just smiled and went to the next store.

Victoria Secret's had a lot of nice things. Even though Bambi does not wear panties, I was thinking about getting her a pair of those cute lace ones. I was at the point of reaching for my wallet when the sales lady informed me that the size I had selected probably would not fit me!

Ok, by now my masculinity was getting a bit shaken, but in the name of romance, I made my way to the perfume counter. I purchased a bottle of Calvin Kline cologne. Receiving no comment from the saleswoman, my masculinity was restored and I was on my way home.

At the last minute, I decided to stop by the flower shop and purchase a bouquet of mixed flowers for Bambi. This time, the man in the flower shop tried to make a pass at me.

Although everything that I did today was intended to honor the love of my life, and my actions were pure in nature - there were not driven by the need to get out of the dog house or to "get some." But my masculinity was so badly shaken by the events of today that I'll be looking to get some when I get home. Bambi, sensing that I have expectations of sex will put me "in the dog house" and I'll have to repeat this cycle again just to get out of the dog house.LOL!!

It's a vicious world!

Well, Mr. Bambi,

I am sorry for you and the misinterpretations you had to endure. Humiliation and embarrassment. Wow! That is a lot for just being nice for the love of your love, Bambi. You go out of your way to be very good to her and you are treated in a weird way. Now, you are afraid that you will not get some, which was not your original intention. You could always let her make that first move. You might be rewarded instead of penalized.

I do agree that the world can be a vicious place to be sometimes. So many people in the world today. And most of the business folk are only looking to make a buck. They don't even care about their customers so much.

I do not currently have a real girlfriend. But I do have some online hopefuls. Sometimes, I feel inspired to write a nice love letter to any one of them. Often, there is no reason to send the letter at all, just to give my love. And I do that. I am hoping one day that one of these women will be my girlfriend for real.

Totally classless and clueless customer service skills on the part of that sales rep, if you ask me! I mean, don't just tell someone that the item won't fit them...run and get a pair that will! LOL

It's the difference between a 'closed' interaction, and an 'open' one: "Do you like this?" vs "I think the blue goes so well with your eyes!"

That's why I'm in the industry I'm in...to train people and reward them for going the extra mile in a store. And that does NOT include teaching them to "make a pass" at customers!
But, that flower guy is in the right business...obviously! He just needs to be taught not to think of male customers as 'pistils and stamens'!

Mr. Bambi:

Me thinks that you missed two (Actually, 3, but i'm not into guys!) wonderful opportunities to make friends at the Mall!

Just my observation!

Ah! What Mall was that?
