He Says - She Says

Welcome to our menagerie...

Even though he loves cats, Mr. Bambi would prefer not to have any pets because we are spontaneous and frequently on the go. I love dogs and have always wanted one. As a compromise, we decided to get a cat last year.

Today, for our 9th anniversary - 9 months that is, Mr. Bambi got me a dog. Little "Beavis" is just beautiful. He is smart, he never barks, he's house broken, and he gets along very well with our cat.

Mr. Bambi says that the dog was named "Beavis" for a reason (he named the dog). He says the dog looks like an oversized rat, that having a dog is like placing a bet with yourself that someone isn't going to be missing a finger or toe within a month. He also insists that the dog is too stupid to eat the cat.

Obviously one of us is wrong - only time will tell. In the mean time, I'd like to know whether or not you are a dog person, a cat lover, an "other type of animal" lover, or whether you just don't want to be bothered with a pet.

Well, I suppose I fall into a cross breed segment. I love dogs, cats, and "other" types. I have two German Shepards and if not for my spouse's allergies would have a cat as well. We have 4 hamsters, a turtle and an Iguana as well. So it is a regular menagarie over here. Anyone that does not like pets, should probably steer clear of my house, that is for certain! *giggles*

I'm a huge animal lover and have never been without a pet or several. I've had cats most of my life until last year. My sweet Kitty-Cat died at 21 years old just short days before his 22 birthday. Broke my heart. He had been with me since I was a teenager and I was 41 when he died.

I've near always had a dog. Just have one right now and her name is Ripley. I need to get her a companion. I want it to be a magnificent Doberman Pincher - a red one and I want to name him Morphious (from the Matrix movies).

All of the cats and dogs I've ever had the honor of sharing time with have been rescues from the streets or the pound and I've loved them all dearly. I've had all kinds of other pets including:

10 fish tanks at one time
Horny Toads
Hermit Crabs
Guinnea Pigs
A Teranchula
A Reticulated Pithon

I almost bought a little billy goat once, but my then boyfriend would not have it (the mean jerk).

Okay, told you I love animals. That got me going and gave me happy thoughts!!! LOL! Thanks!!!

I prefer dogs much more then cats even though its obvious cats are smarter.. I don't have a pet currently but over the years have had many and in the dog department not alot of smart ones. Breed didn't matter much as they were all miners in my back yard . If i get another at some point in the future it will probably be a miniature beagle or a spazzo taco bell dog Chihuahua * good thing passion.com spell checker could spell the name of that mutt i couldn't

Capt. Kirk,

I thought for a min that you had the dog name (Beavis) then you got a cat and Mr. Bambi wanted to name it Butthead. Glad i was wrong lol
