Getting over someone is a part of life

What happens when you don't want to get over someone? I mean, say you run into someone that really knocked your socks off, yet it didn't work out.

Do you just chalk it up to a learning experience and go your way?

Or, do you keep that person in your mind and hope that one day you will be able to try again, hopefully with better results?

No one can really stand in another's shoes but I have always believed that when driving you should keep your eyes on the road ahead not on the review mirror.

it hurts a lot-and unless you weren't emotionally invested in the relationship for starters you really wouldn't have gotten much out of it on many levels. You have to be in it to really enjoy it.

I don't know if I chalk it up as a learning experience, but I take all I can from it.

If you keep that person in the back of your mind, you are cheating yourself and whomever enters your life. You are less likely to give new people a full chance. Talking from experience here. Looking back I realize I did not give someone special a chance at all of me because I was still dreaming of someone else. That was my loss ten years ago.
