misconceptions and expectations

how small is the world..... too small for some i think and too big for others.... its amazing how ppl from all around the country go out of their way to meet someone from this site with out much of a debate wheather it is worth while.... how weird is human nature.... or is it just normal human nature to make contact with somthing we have created in our minds... i wonder how many ppl are disapointed at the end of the road, or even slightly let down..... do we over expect with our expectations.... or do we only form our expectations to what we want and ignore the truth that is usually out there for us to use.

I make a point of not forming or generating expectations about anyone and i find that pretty satisfying so far.... actually the truth is i dont over expect rather under expect and that way i get a nice surprise.... and ive had some great wet surprises actually..... lol... sheesh can never repress my true nature.....

what i have found is that expectations are formed when ppl chat on line.... "getting to know each other" and generally these expectations are not soooo real.... for example the guys i meet from chatting and the guys i meet from email are different..... and I'm not saying it in any bad way different... just different..... less expectations that need to be lived up to with the guys from email...... and for some reason less awkwardness afterwards.....

I think great friendships can be made here..... but great disappointments can be gotten here too.....lol.... so i hope that i never disappoint anyone ( actually lets just say if i don't match ur criteria and taste ) and if i do be a man and tell me..... in a polite then that way at least we can still remain friends

I so agree with you and that is why I prefer to be genuine. I found that because I am a bit shy, or should I say insecure?, because I hate to disappoint people, meeting in person is maybe a let down for the other person, although nobody has said so yet It could also be that they created a wrong expectation with me, because I have been slightly disappointed...

Toodela I have to agree with what you said as well. Online I am a lot more outgoing and a little more forward than I would be in real life, I am still me but the confident me.
