Lovers and mistresses...

Yesterday this thought struck me, and I just HAD to see what other people thought...

If the lover of a MARRIED MAN is known as his MISTRESS...

does that mean the lover of a MARRIED WOMAN would be her MASTER???

My lover does NOT see himself as my master, but rather fancies himself as my "bit on the side"

Love, hugs and kisses from ♥♥HH♥♥

there are 'Masters', as in those who control
and then there are 'Masters' who are recognized for excellence and experience in their skills

For me, I'm thinking that the 'skilled' definition would fit well.

Master and Mistress both have their Dom/sub overtones ... the difference is that mistress has that extra-marital side to it too. Now, what does that tell you about the development of English society?

"Bit on the side" has a slightly jaunty feel about it, don't you think? That has to be appropriate: after all, if it's not fun, why are you doing it?

Mind you, "lover" is pretty good on its own too

Good question Helga.... not sure I know the answer.. will be interested how others chime in on this.....

IF it were me (and I do so wish it was! .. I would simply wish to be your "LOVER" and to enjoy each other in any way we chose no matter the titles!

ps.... LOVE the new photo!! so very sensuous without being crude!!

Angelic... I know, and I am nowhere near getting an answer!

M2... I've bitten him, but not on his side!

Campfire... I like the skilled definition too!

timberwolf... just as well my husband doesn't like duck hunting! Guess you've not read my profile then?

Q... I can go for "jaunty"... and lover does have that certain ring to it, doesn't it?

fantasy... well thank you... for both compliments!

elysian... if you're not comfortable being a master, then don't be one.

redlips... mmmmmmmmmmm... and what a yummy boytoy too!!

Daniel... oh my!! Never thought of that one!!

Al... lol, you do, huh? Something you want to share with me?

Love, hugs and kisses from ♥♥HH♥♥

............I have been the lover of a married woman, and I'm a married woman too......she was my lover and my girl-friend. I'm not sure what else I would've called her, except for HOT!

I've never, as a married woman, had another man, well except in cyber-land and I've never called them anything, they just are!

Many years ago I was a mistress of a married man, I was 20 at the time, he was nine years older. It wasn't fun, my heart got broke, and yes I was his 'naughty bit on the side'.............. wouldn't recommend it!

But mmmmmmmmmmm I might like having a master!

Good question! Does a married woman REALLY want her lover to be named a master? I prefer to be called "bit on the side", it's like a love-byte!
