New Year

Man, hard to believe that 2005 is almost over and we're on the cusp of 2006. Watched a bit of a TV show the other night where they were reviewing the year and the amount of tragedy is enormous during the year. We pray for peace, but many people on the planet didn't get much of it in the last 12-months. The aftermath of the tsunami continues - thousands of people still living in tents without basic necessities more than a year after it hit. Not sure how aid agencies work but it seems to this neophyte that many of them spend more time debating how they will assist people rather than getting in there and doing it. Kudos to the Canadian military's DART team that brought clean drinking water, shelter and medical assistance to the folks in Pakistan after the devastating earthquake. When they hit the ground, they hit the ground running. It looks like a lot of these aid agencies could take some lessons from the DART crew. Anyway, enough for this day. If you've become a "regular" (after 4 posts??????) reader of this thing, thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a great Saturday and let me make it official - Happy New Year!
