Real Heroes never die

Everyone has to have a hero. My hero would have had a birthday today. When I woke this morning to the bright sunshine, I thought of my hero today. I remembered our time spent together. I was taken back in time. It was summer and I was back at the lake in Massachusetts. We stopped at the same fruit stand every time and my hero would buy a blueberry pie, just for us. We were the only two that liked blueberry. I would spend my time at the lake doing a whole bunch of things we couldn't do at home. I could catch frogs there. I could take a trip on the rowboat. I could swim in the lake. I remember the way the fish would come up and nibble at your legs. My hero would remind me they only wanted to taste the sweet ones, and this was why they always nibbled on me every time. We could catch bluegill in the lake, and my hero would bait my line for me every time, over and over again. He would laugh at me, because I was a girl that could catch frogs, but could never put the bait on my own line. My hero isn't around anymore. His time was relatively short. Today I was reminded he's still with me. Heroes never die.

This touched me... and you are so right not just hero's but all in our life who have made an impact..isn't it so wonderful that they can abide in our memories and hearts forever. c
