Bathhouse bust (Seattle, a walking tour)

So, how was my time spent in Seattle?

Eh, could have been better.

No real plans were made anyway. I was going to wander around the city until I met up with my father to see "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" later that evening. So I had a lot of time to spend.

But not a lot of money.

No no! I don't mean spending it that way!

You see, in Seattle we have three bathhouses (in case you have no idea, a bathhouse is a place where gay/bi men get naked and have random sex. Sounds like fun, no?), and I had been to one of them twice, mostly do to sexual desperation as I am mostly attracted to women.

So here I was, with nothing to do, and feeling unusually horny, and with lots of time to kill. So why exactly did I not go to a bathhouse?

A couple reasons: first is that only one is open 24 hours. The other two open at around 3 or so.

The second issue deserves its own paragraph. When you think of a place where a bunch of men go to get it on, what do the men look like at that first moment? Pretty handsome? Buff? Youngish? While I had these similar images when I was first going I was a little more realistic. I went on a Thursday at 11 a.m., so I wasn't expecting much. What I got was probably the kind of people who normally come to the houses: guys who, for various reasons, can't get any under normal circumstances. Is it mean for me to say so? A little, I suppose, but it's still true! They are either overweight, aged at around 50-70 (seriously), have little to no charm, and some don't seem worried about using protection (which is scary). Also, there were a couple guys who didn't even bother taking their wedding bands off. Ok, I have no problem with idea of swinging, so long as you partner knows and is perfectly happy about it.

So yeah. The past two times I went it was a bit of a bust. Yeah I got to cum (safely), but not with anyone I was really attracted to.

The third reason was cash. It's pretty tight right now and has been for some time. So I had to ask myself, was it worth $12 ($6 for membership [I'm under 25 so I get a discount] and another $6 for a locker) to get my rocks off with someone(s) I'm not even attracted to? $12 that I could spend on, like, a book or something?

Yeah, I got the book instead (well, a magazine [no, not pron]).

Fascinating peek inside the world around us. The gay cliche seen from my side of fence is 24 hour fuck fest. Conventional wisdome is again lacking.

...and this nearly random thought was brought to you by the Stroller Foundation, making people aware of the importants of strollers for the past 15 years.
