A Recycling Truce?

So some posts ago, my husband mentioned our recycling...the large pile that has taken on a life of its own. I think I saw a moon revolving around it the other day while doing some laundry. He doesn't mind the pile that vascilates between neat and tidy to just plain messy overflow. I hate it. He dislikes going to the recycling center for what ever reason. Not that I blame him...it is not my idea of fun either. However he always returns with a story about some little old lady at the center doing some such thing that he has found amusing--it really can't be that bad if he comes back with funny stories. Still, the recyling sits looking as though at any moment it will come to life like The Blob from that funny b horror flick. He has hoped (and he explained this before the planet evolved) that I will break down and do it for him. I told him "no way" not because I mean but on the principle that the recycling is really his pet project. Hence a bit of recycling stare down has ensued. A joking contest of will. Who would break first?

Well it wasn't me...heh, heh. Though...damn it if there ain't still a pile out there. The gravitational pull has disappeared for now but I think that the moon will return in a month unless I can get him to finish the project! And couldn't you guess the reason that he finally went: HE WANTS TO START A NEW PROJECT and needs the space....and so the saga continues.

I have a solution, just wait till the pile gets large enough to collapse back in on itself and create a blackhole! Then all your problems will be solved! Trash, recycling, the neighboor's obnoxious dog, the others neighboor's obnoxious brat, bill collectors, Jehovah's Witnesses, door to door salesmen, the possibilities are endless! Just don't get too close yourself and everything should be allright, and don't get socks anywhere near it, they disappear by themselves enough as it is!!!

that is definately the problem with recycling! it just never seems to get recycled before it is a huge problem! no matter how many cute containers or sytems one gets, the overflow continues.....

hmmm.... Yes indeed.. Please let us know about the new project. I am thinking a compost pile like the one I have forming in the living room would be a good thing.

I am not dead yet
