Dreamweaver by Gary Wright

I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind

Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies

Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain

Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side

Ah, freetime, thanks for the memories!

This song is what i refer to as "head music" It crosses all boundries of music...any song/music/etc. that just takes ya away (ie: calgon take me away) and lets yer mind just drift and relax.

Been away due to computer interuptus for over 2 months (1hotwahine called it cyber purgatory). I'm so glad to get back and see your blogs.

Belated Valentines Wishes to ya...NO heart attacks allowed so close to Valentines Day! Glad yer doin' ok.

This song brings up the movie Jaws in my head associatively as they must have been popular right around the same time.

Also ,concerning this song on the more musical side of it, I love that aside from all the mega-space invader type synthoid sound effects the base of the music behind it all is straightforward deep southern gospel.

Gary Wright really had a great handle on that style even though it somehow remains so subtle in the background that not once do you ever hear this song and think "church music" even though , from a technical and music history perspective, that's what it's wholly based upon.

And that's artistry when you can pull that sort of thing off.
