Being defensive...or is that denial?

One thing I cannot fathom is the way people become defensive about things when they have been confronted. Many, MANY, MANY times I have approached a certain problem I may be having with someone and they always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS , become defensive first. They do not even hear what it is I am trying to say. I guard my emotions very protectively but when they get stomped on, I will confront the stomper. And 9 out of 10 times the stomper turns it all on me. Saying I did this or I acted like that.

I am one who will actually admit to be being a bitch or being in a pissy mood, and I am also one who will voice my thoughts, but when I voice them in the hopes of reconciliating the relationship and the other person reacts defensively I get so frustrated and hurt. It is almost like they really did know they stomped on my feelings and instead of admitting it, they'd rather hurt me more by telling me what it is that I am so fucked up about.....

Geez......frustration, anger, hurt....

Where's the Love man?"

It seems to be a normal human reaction when we are confronted by someone. I think it's because when most people are confronted for hurting another, they are put in an uncomfortable situation, where thier words or actions are be questioned and in most instances it was because they know what they done was likely wrong. So many have gotten to where they see it a sign of being weak to admit they were wrong or even more afraid to say they are sorry. It seems to me, so many are afraid to show compassion, but what the hell do I know about it, LOL
Not sur how I stumbled to your blog....but great to see a distant Pacers fan and a Junior fan. Just wonder about that choice of the Steelers LOL It's Colts blue I beed here. Have a great Weekend and don't let the reaction of 9 out of 10 bother you. Forget them and cherish the 1 that can say "I'm sorry"
BTW, I find your hair so awesome. Take care
