Kick your ass!!

Rules for the Non Military

Dear Civilians,
"We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

1. The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the
National Anthem---kick their ass.

2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest---kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

4. (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been
okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5. Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).

6. If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake---and kick their ass.

7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag)prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her---of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.

8. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command is to include our Commander-In-Chief (CinC). The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions
repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked!

9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me---stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!

10. Bin Laden and the Taliban are not Communists, so stop saying 'Let's go kill those Commies!' And stop asking us where he is! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me---if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!

11. 'Flyboy'(AirForce), 'Jarhead'(Marines), 'grunt' (Army), 'Squid' (Navy), 'Puddle Jumpers'
(Coast Guard), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That could get your ass kicked.

12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get it's ass kicked."

"It is the Veteran, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.

"It is the Veteran, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.

It is the Veteran, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.

"It is the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the
flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag."

(Please pass this on so I won't have to kick your ass!) "If you can read this, thank a teacher" If
you are reading it in English, thank a Veteran "

T. thank you for your blog. I have several quotes that I have taken with me from time to time to combat. Your's is one of them. As I held off again, I will always remember that most civilians support us because it is our job and duty. They might not support the decision that was made, but they support the soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, and coast guardsmen. Thank you again. God Bless

Brian, you're going back to the politics. Zarqawi(SP?) was a hands on murderer. Responisbile personally for the beheading of quite a few people, AND responsible to the car bombs that kill hundreds of Iraqis, not to mention our troops. Killing him was a GOOD thing, for everybody. Will it stop the deaths? No. The muslim factions STILL have enough people ready to happily kill others of their faith. Their brothers. In all honesty, our leaving will not solve this problem. Yes, I want my brothers and sisters out of there NOW. But they aren't the ones responsible for the great majority of Iraqi deaths, and our being there isn't the reason either. This is a religiuous civil war for these people, and they WANT to kill their brothers, their countrymen. Because of religious beliefs. That's the problem Bri, and it was there centuries before we ever arrived. Before you go off half cocked (that's my job), do some background reading. There's plenty out there. Learn the history of the area. This war IS wrong, but now we are the only reason the country hasn't sunk into complete anarchy. We are actually saving lives, and our troops actually do accomplish good things for these people. I still don't want them there, but the individual American soldier is a brave, good hearted person. He is you and I, trying to make the best of a terrible situation. Scared, frustrated, tired, but all of the time trying to do what's right. I've been there, like your dad, your uncle. Ask them. We know. Try to imagine being there yourself. Scary isn't it? Your heart is in the right place Bri, but you need more information. Keep reading, listening, learning. Blindly following the anti-war rhetoric makes you as foolish as those blindly following Bush. Key word is blindly. Without seeing. You're smarter than that. An informed person CAN make a difference. Joe

the death of #2 means nothing. We killed someone...woo woo. How many innocent people died looking for him? God bless the world.

Haven't you paid any attention to what we have been saying??? NOT ALL OF US AGREE WITH THIS WAR... BUT THEY ARE DOING THEIR JOB. AND I DO SUPPORT WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO. But also think, with #2 gone, how many more innocents will be spared from the suicide bombings???

I shut the post down because it wasn't fair. I do believe that the war that we are fighting is unjust and perpetrated on a lie. I believe that what GWB has done is to turn our soldiers into murderers. I realize that what I said was over the top. I truly do feel for our troops...I just feel that they deserve a better Commander-in-Chief. God bless all those who fought to make our country what it is today and may God bring our troops home safely and soon!
I for one accept your apology. It's the actions of a man. We shall not debate the politcal thing here. This was and is about our troops. Nothing more. Ask your dad and uncle about that. They'll tell you. They were maligned unfairly also. I DO think you understand now. Peace unto us all. Joe

And then he went and shut it down, Oh well, I tried to tt him like a man. Maybe he's embarrassed now? Dunno, maybe we'll never know. I really just hope he learns. According to him, his dad and uncle served RVN. I reminded him that by dishonoring our troops now, he dishonored his family's service also. Maybe that got to him. Hope so. Thanks to the rest of y'all for caring and for standing tall for those who aren't here. Joe

He has apologized to us on his blog. I advise him to come here and do the same. In this case I honestly think it is a matter of a young pup so angry at the war that he lashed out in the wrong direction. I hope and pray he has learned a valuable lesson. It's a lesson I think a lot of people need to learn. Our service members are all that stand between us and those who would harm us. They should be treated with the greatest respect and honor possible. They are willing to give up their lives for us. What greater thing can a person do? I hope he learns, I hope everyone learns. We need to teach these young ones the true meaning of patriotism. Freedom isn't free. It seems that many have forgotten. But not here. Obviously not here. Joe

I'd love to kick those asses!! My grandpa died in Nam and I can't tell you how pissed I get when I see the lack of patriotism in this country. 9/11 brought it out for a little bit, but isn't it "funny" how quickly people forget? I've shushed people when the National Anthem is being sung. I raised my boys to stand straight, remove your hat, and salute the flag when she passes by, sing the Anthem when it's played, and say the Pledge of Allegiance the way it was meant to be said! I'M PROUD TO BE AMERICAN!!!

You are living proof that abortion needs to be kept legal. There aren't words to express my loathing and contempt for you. Good post, T! I don't understand nitwits like BrianBoy. We live in a great country only because brave men and women have fought and sacrificed to preserve our freedoms and the freedoms of other people in our global community of mankind. Our veterans and the veterans of our allies who fought along side them in past conflicts deserve our respect, admiration and prayers.

I guess the only rights that should be fought for are the ones that you like. I guess you would have told the "niggers" to go back to Africa when they fought against slavery or told women to get back into the kitchen when they wanted the right to vote. You flag wavers are pathetic.

Too true.
Freedom has to be fought for what ever flag we fight under.
The ani-war lobby would do well to consider the crimes that are committed when citizens look the other way and do not fight.

Don't ever give up searching for the fun in life.

Those in the military are murderers. To blindly follow an ignoramus like GWB is evidence of their idiocy. Life is filled with tough decisions. "I was just following orders" fell by the wayside a long time ago.

frbnkslady replies on 6/5/2006 10:26 pm:
Just shows how ignorant you are.. ALL countries have military.. and they protect your right to even spit on them. You should try talking to a few military peeps. MOST are not happy with GWB...try another route...Suppose you are one of the the few that burn the flag too huh??? T

My daughter wears combat boots....she's in the Alaska Air National Guard.
My brother wears combat boots.......He's in IRAQ right now.
My nephew wears combat boots...He's coming home right now from IRAQ...he was wounded two weeks ago.

I am on the verge of tears when I hear that song at sporting events.

I bought a new flag yesterday, even though I had a perfectly good one at home.
