sleepdeprived insomnia writers block

something goes here, but I forget what. I had it figured out earlier today. I remember seeing the words in my mind. I remember looking forward to writing them.

But they are gone now.

So this is here to mark the place of somthing that never was in a virtual place that never really is.

If I find my words later, I'll put them here.

I woke up a little bit ago and remembered what is supposed to go here.

It's a list of simple things that make me glad to be alive. Read t over, give it some thought, and please feel free to add your own.

Waking up slowly, gradually shifting into the day at my own pace, no alarm clock

Grass wet with morning dew between my toes

Ozone in the air after a thunderstorm

Driving barefoot

Sirloin steak, bloody rare

Sex in the afternoon, on the kitchen counter, just because we can and we want to

Empty highway, full moon, top down, 120 mph, stereo blasting heavy metal

Campfires and snuggle buddies in late October

Apples picked fresh off the tree

Trick or Treating

Splitting fire wood

Skinny dipping

A sharp knife

A loyal dog

A dependable rifle

Dairy Queen Extreme Chocolate Blizzards

Frogs and crickets and whipporwills at night

Birds singing in the morning

A woman asleep with her head on my chest

Sex first thing in the morning

Breakfast in bed after morning sex

A hot shower at the end of a hard day

Birthday cards from old friends

Phone calls from my mom

Venison that I killed, cleaned, cut, and cooked myself

A poem that just pops out of my head, perfect in the first draft

Flirty waitresses and bank clerks

Little cousins who think they want to be like me when they grow up

Back Scratchings

My mountain bike and an unexplored trail

Scalp massages

Making love in the rain

Video games, movies and hot chocolate when it’s too nasty to be outside

Sleigh riding parties ‒ steep hill, packed snow, bonfire at the bottom of the hill

Music 24/7

Mom’s homemade biscuits and chocolate syrup, fried ham, glass of ice cold milk

Great blog discussions, and comments, of course

i can relate on the sleep deprivation, i often will go a week or two managing my world on 2 hours a day....often i just can not seem to shut off my brain...or i know that there is something there and it needs to come out, i *need* to write it down and until that happens i do nothing but lay there ...i understand friend

and there are several things on your list that i also love...morning dew between my toes brought a grin to my face did the apple from the tree and poems that just fall to the paper perfect, no editing needed ...thanks

ALRIGHT you can come camping but forget the snuggle buddy part

Nice list for being sleepy

That's ok Dano...I'll snuggle his "buddy."

Streak, I am glad you liked the list. When I'm in a writing "groove" two things don't happen: the music doesn't stop, and I don't sleep.

DT, it was because we had a Time-warp Tuesday this week.

Dano, I'll cook if you'll bring something to drink.

Huny, I never minded it until I saw "fight club" and I realized I knew 25 mintutes into the movie that the dude was split in his head. No one else saw it coming, and it was totally obvious to me. That really messed with me.

better be careful, Dano... you get me too drunk and we might end up spooning before the night is out. Just remember - male bonding is a beautiful thing, until you take it too far!
