A Screeching Halt

No swimming, biking or running for me for the last few days. And none for the immediate future either. Thursday morning I woke to find that I had a little bulge in my lower right abdomen. No pain, but everything points to a hernia. From the research I, and a friend, have done, there seems to be no other treatment than surgery. Which is worrisome, given my current status among the uninsured. This has also kept me from going to a doctor for a complete diagnosis.

I've spent the last few days being depressed as hell, feeling trapped and caged -- unable to get out on the road with its associated freedom. I'm still unsure of what I'm going to do about this. Or when. Or how. I thought writing about it might make me feel a little better -- a catharsis of sorts -- but, it hasn't. My condition, in all respects, remains the same.

UPDATE:
It's a few hours after I originally posted this. I did some more hunting on the web and found another possibility. My swelling is right about where a lymph node is. I have a possible infection elsewhere on my body, which according to what I read, could cause my lymph node to swell. So, all may not be lost.

/ Instead of a swollen lymph node, why couldn't I have had a swollen nymph lode?

Might be time to suck it up and go to the doc regardless. Good luck.
