My first true princess

Her name was Charlotte, and I was studying in England. The first thing I remember about her was that I was sitting outside my dorm room, and she came walking down the hall in slippers that were also furry pink bunnies. I made a comment, and she said ("Do you want to meet them? This is Marmaduke (she shook one foot) and Morris (she shook the other). I fell for her instantly. I am SO interested in the type of girl who woud actually name her slippers. Anyway, the courtship commenced, moving from walks outside in the freezing England winter to nights in her dorm room pretty quickly. We never actually consummated the relationship (she was nervous, and would always make me stop about 2 or 3 minutes into the act that could result in pregnancy), but we got to know each other in just about every other way there was. I was only in England for 3 1/2 months, and I remember going to stay at her parents house in Guildford just before I was leaving. We drank mulled wine and watched cartoons on BBC. Getting on the plane to fly back to California was the hardest thing I'd done up to that point. I kept turning around to say goodbye, knowing that I'd not be back. It had to end that way- I was a poor student, as was she, and although I had financial aid take care of my study abroad, I didn't have the resources to go back and see her. We talked a few times on the phone after I returned, but eventually drifted apart. Charlotte, I love you, and honor you, as my very first princess.
