What I did on my Summer Vacation

I took a vacation - my very own "Great American Road Trip" - this was a trip w/a purpose - I still am working on determining what the "real" purpose was.

What did I do - well - to begin with - the round trip was over 1800 miles - I needed to prove to myself that I could in fact handle myself all alone out there and survive. The goal at the end of the trip was to be able to give my very dear friend a hug - a hug he very badly needed and that I very badly needed to give - mission accomplished with a high degree of success.

I also needed to sort out some feelings that I didn't understand - did a lot of work on that and came away w/a lot of answers and a few more questions. If you wish to know more read "vrec_Dawn" - he has more courage than I do and has stated things most beautifully.

I climbed a mountain and not just metaphorically - and now that I write this - I understand that the climb was as much mental, spiritual and emotional as it was physical - but as the picture here shows - I concurred all of the above and victory was mine.

I faced my fears and self-doubts. I opened my mind and my heart. I looked at another of life's doors straight on and open it and found a beautiful love. I found energy of such a bright white light that at times I felt I might explode and was given a hand to hold that gently guided me back. I laughed, I cried, I fell, I taught, I learned, I gave and I received. A blessing was requested and I know that the wish was granted in the most amazing way.

I am not the same woman who drove away from her home last Tuesday - she is still around - she is just a much better person. I can't wait to get to know her better.

So - what did you do on your summer vacation.

I was reborn. I helped another find their way back from the darkness and we both stepped into the light. All-in-all - not a bad way to spend your vacation. I would wish the same for all of you.

the climb was as much mental, spiritual and emotional as it was physical ...that is the point of travel to expand the mind,it's often less about the place you go then the going someplace that tests you and expands your mind as you learn about your self.sounds like you had a great trip, welcome home

It's a shame but I don't think most people would have understood if I would have explained it that way - yes - this was a life changing experience - and a affirmation that I am on the right path - thanks

Help! Evil Dru has tied me to my chair and says she won't let me go until I learn to let go! Anyone have an idea what she means?

Awwwww. There's just not a smily icon big enough to to express how much this post makes me smile. We're both very new people now. Goddess knows where the "real" purpose leads, if I'm guessing right.

I let her stay w/Vrec - she is going to help him learn how to be bad - he is going to bring her back here one day when he has had enough - she can visit w/you when she returns.

OK - now that it is up - I can see that you won't see me if I don't tell you where to look - in the center of the picture - look for the slightly red spot - that is my T-shirt - if you look real hard - you will see that I am standing on rocks - at the top of the area of Devil's Lake just below Devil's Doorway - my hands are doing the Rocky thing - raised up in the air in victory !

One very cool thing that happened while taking this picture - some raptor's - Turkey Vultures and a Hawk - flew past me - I was high enough that I was able to see them straight on and even look down and see the sun reflect off them - WOW doesn't even begin to explain how I felt weeing that.

OK - so the 2nd to the last word of this comment was really - seeing - but weeing almost sorta expresses how I felt - so - I am leaving it there - I will consider that my inner child making it's thoughts known.
