why is it..

what is with all the people who think that they need to cut off 18 wheelers. i mean do they not realize just how much of a risk it is? not to mention that should there be a crash it would not be in their favor. driving these roads everyday like i do i see so many people who act like they are the only people on the road. they will cut you off just o get off at an exit or make a turn. that just doe not make any sense to me. i mean here i am in a big truck weighing upwards of 80,000 lbs. and they think i can stop on a dime. not going to happen i can promise you. i jusst wish people would think a little more before they cut someone off, not even some truck, in amy vehicle. i have seen more crashes here lately than i care to see. now before everyone gets mad at me and goes off, i know that there are a lot of truck drivers out there that need their heads examines too. at the same time, what may seem like a stupid move on our part could be because we were trying to avoid a worse situation. also, why is it that when a truck driver turns a signal on to get over that the cars seem to think they need to speed up and pass us? i know we aren't able to accelerate as quick but come on give us a break out there. we are out there trying to do a job and get somewhere too. another point i'd like to address..please dont ride beside a truck. one-we can't always see you in our mirrors and 2-should we have a tire blowout and you are right beside it, it could very easily go through a windshield or door window and that wouldn't be good for anyone. all i am asking for is a little consideration. while you may be in a hurry to get across town we have to get across country. i'm sure this is probably going to get some people fired up and bash me for this but i really dont care. maybe at least you'll think next time before you do something as crazy as trying to beat a big truck somewhere.

I work in a truckstop and I hear this from a lot of the guys who drive the big trucks
I not only agee with you but I would like to know why people go flying by us on a two lane road only for us to catch up with thm at the next red light

I try very hard to stay out of the way..it's much easier to work with a big rig than against one.

That was a cool statement! I do some of stuff that your talking about quickly, but your right. Why do 'some truckers' hold the slow lane, when they know it's the only place for people getting on the highway, to get on at! The answer would be inconsiderate drivers, and they can't really be defined by the vehicle they drive, except: Van and SUV's, they are all ass-holes!LOL I drive too fast, and I need to think about these things more. thanks!

hotnjuicy..i hear ya on running slow n the right lane, at the same time though most states have restricted us to the 2 right lanes and trust me the "large cars" give the slower trucks hell if they are in anything but the right lane. it makes no sense to me to restrict a truck going through a city to the right lanes when all that does is create traffic jams getting on and off at exit ramps. at the same time though, when you are trying to get 80,000 lbs to move, it dont happen at any speed. thanks for the post. glad to see you back onsite. was hoping nothing had happened when you were gone for a while, but i know you had some things to deal with. hope all is going well with that. take care dear.

I drive an SUV (Avalanche) and while I admit to driving too fast sometimes...Im a very good driver...and courteous too...unless of course you piss me off...I can promise you a safe ride with me...but not a nonemotional one...my middle fingers stay busy sometimes more than I like...but I ALWAYS respect those vehicles who are waaaaay bigger than me...smooches sweet stuff...QueenB

Come on over...let's play in my Castle! The hide and seek is awesome!
