aHHHH. A DAY FOR LOVERS.....

Unless of course....

SO, First let me say Happy Valentines Day to all my friends, and visitors, new and old.

Now , I, being married, and not for that long as many marriages go, thought Valentines Day would be a shoe in...I paid my dues, spent all those years with no flowers, candy, champagne, romantic evenings by a fire, blah, blah, friggin blah. WRONG....I get "well we're just gonna do cards right hun?" "NO", well I wouldn't have...But as you all know if you've been following my blog, things are pretty rocky nowa days. so, here I am....Waiting for my lousy card that I guarantee you he won't even read!!! AARRRGGGGGHHH.

Thank God, for my gorgeous, wonderful baby boy(2 now), He will certainly be my valentine today,,,I would like to know how many others are in my boat, how many will be sharing my typical day, with a V at the begining??

OR am I the only pathetic one?

after working all day
I hurried home to get cleaned up
and a change of clothes...
arriving
I found some flowers
and a card from my ex
hanging on the door...

she was one who
always chased what she didn't have
and when she had me in her life
diamond necklace for her last Valentine's day
she was busy pursuing whichever guy
was giving her the eye...

however, this day would be different,
I thrive on those with desire
and I arrived in time to properly welcome them all...
even though they were eager to begin
we started slow
gradually building intensity
as their breathing became rapid,
I enjoyed the sweat gathering upon their bodies...
observing the grace of their movements
I marveled at their beauty,
the passion in their eyes....
we reached the pinnacle of our time together
and once again we began to relax
however, before parting
since they chose to spend their Valentine's Day with me
I brought a dozen red roses,
one for each of them...

God, I love teaching my fitness class!!

Hi I gave my wife a dozen roses and a singing stuffed animal and it was no big deal. So i'm on the other side of this were nothing you do is good enough. I agree live life it's way to short. Put all your energy into your little valentine you'll get more out of it.

Thanks i needed that! And a great big hug back at ya! I wish someone could explain to me what it is about people not being happy with what they have. And in response to your question i agree sense of humor is key also being able to laugh at yourself and most of all communication.

Interesting mix of comments here....
I have been married for 8 years and have several kids... and the second valentines day of our married bought a dozen red roses from the local florest along with a nice card thought I was doing well, it was on time and the right holiday ... of course it was "not enough"
From then on I have really downplayed this holiday and dont deven bother with a card... and the sad part is that my wife does not even mind (or should I say care) about it.

Your not the only pathetic one out there... and I dont think pathetic even applies to you.

Love and happiness to you.

LOL, oh god, i must be in heaven. C'mon guys - if you can part with the $30 for some beer, than you can be creative. I spent no more than $40 - no chocolate, no flowers, no jewlery and rated TEARS (of joy of course, what did you think?). It is not the amount, it is not even the thought - like the "thought that counts" - NO!! It means listening! Are you deaf? I said LISTENING!

Pay attention to your women - and i don't mean shower them with gifts, kisses or even agree to sit through the agony of their favorite soap opera. Pick up clues, be a genuine Sherlock Holmes!

The greatest gift of all is something she mentioned "would be cool" in passing. or something that "cute". THINK for god sakes! She said something to you between the cheers of your F**King football game! What did she say? If you don't remember, then you ARE DOOMED to a failed relationship. ALWAYS listen. You don't have to respond or even react - just internalize it and memorize it and when the time is right and you show up with that little "cool" $20 piece of crap little nick knack - she will remember that she was out with you and that YOU HEARD WHAT SHE SAID. THAT gentlemen is the greatest gift of all!!!! THAT is paying attention! The $20 piece of crap MEANS NOTHING!!! It means that you heard her say she wanted it 6 months ago and YOU WERE LISTENING!!!

Sadly this doesn't work for men as well as it does for women, but if you ask nicely i might reveal the secret to a man's heart!! And i mean a real man - one who is worth the time and the effort. One who doesn't set aside every winter sunday for football and completely ignore you. If you have one of those footbal/beer men - good luck - i can't help you! LOL
