Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented nad fabulous?"

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us. It's in everyone, and as we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

(Nelson Mandella, 1994 Inaugural Speech)

File that under "things that make you go hmmmmm.
That really makes you think.

I think that goes along with the thoughts of how many failures & rejections can we take, & get back up from, in order to acheve a goal.
Or will we be satisfied with second best. just to have a small sucsess, or have some acceptance by something less then our dream.
How hard are we willing to work for it?????

" Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure." I've always really liked that part. Makes me feel empowered. Sad thing is I don't usually remember who said it. Thanks for the reminder, now lets everyone go out and shine.

I knew there was a reason I liked Nelson Mandela. This is put very well, very powerfully. I have been thinking along the same lines for a while, but this is as eloquently as I have heard these ideas expressed.

Thanks for the great post!

Hi Hun,

We are all sacred in God's is what we do with the gift of life that we show we are greatful. Unfortunately not everyone allows God's light to show thru them...they have rejected him and do evil unto others. TY for sharing her thoughts.
