Network Invites

I wanted to know how other people manage the Network Invites ??
Personally....I don't accept each and every invite I receive. To be honest, I can't see the point just accepting them for the sake of having hundreds of friends in your network. I accept them if I have known that person for some time, chatted to them in a room....or if we have things in common. Some people, I have noticed, just come into the room, dont say hi or whatever, just hit you with an invite. Maybe they're trying to get as many people into their network as possible. But to me it's like I said... to see if people I know well are around on the site...and you can find them straight away!!!
Does that make sense ???

I get what you mean. I'm the same too. Actually I decline more than I accept I'm too damn picky and I don't like to waste the network spots unneccesarily though it's unlimited.

Oh...I am a Network Invitation Whore. I never turn them down (unless they are from men). But in 67 years on this site I think I has only had 40 invites.........so I guess its different for me.

But seriously, yes, I can't see the point of accepting invites unless that person is a friend who like to chat to. Because having that person in your network allows you to see when they are in a chat room.

I never send out invitations, just receiving them and based on some long term talks I will accept.

Who wants an invitation from me ?

from experience as soon as you accept an in vite from a total stranger the very next email contains a " Hi, When can we meet " message. Thats when the ignore feature gets used.Frequently too...

I'm kind of like Erik (minus his years of experience on the site). I think I can count on one finger the number of invites I've gotten. But I like having people in my network for some of the same reasons you do, dani. I consider them friends and find it makes it easier to see when they might be online chatting somewhere.

As for how I extend an invite...normally it's to someone I have talked to over time or think I have a specific interest in common with. And then I will typically send a message to them first asking if they might be agreeable to receiving an invite from me. I learned the hard way, and it only took once (looks slowly a short distance away) , that sending an unexpected or uninvited invite would probably end in rejection.

cannon.....thats IT, exactly. I've declined loads of Invites, simply because I got hit with them, in the rooms, the person didn't even say hello...or....when I read their profile we simply have nothing in common....or...they are only young boys, looking for a quick " leg over " .....IMAO
I find it's better to have a chosen circle of friends, who you have gotten to know over time. Then you can go and say "Hi " to them and find out their news, etc.
( God, do I sound stuck up or what ? )
I'm not, really

I only invite women to my network to see their photo albums. I hate chat because I can't keep up with the text - they are too fast. I have yet to get a network invite.

Pash...yeah, I know what you mean. What's the point of writing a Profile when most people dont even read them ?
Some guys who are Standard members say they cant read Profiles,.....fair enough.....but they could still try to get to know someone without the Invite.

BTW....hope you're feeling loads better now hun xx

another point of view from a standard member is that if your looking through the list in your area,i it is a goo way to log down the ladys that are interesting in your area. almost like putting yourself in front of them for them to see as there are so many on here. if they accept your invite then hopefully they have read your profile and have shown some interest towards you.
Just my thoughts!!

Hi Dan...and thanks for your comment.

Putting yourself in front of ladies....hm.....are you waiting for them all to pounce on you ???

It's always nice to chat to new people and make friends.

Dani xx
