Thumbing A Ride On The Information Highway

My cousin was apparently caught on AdultFriendFinder by her husband recently. My first thought was "Wow, there was really a woman on an adult dating-hookup site acting alone?". As her story unfolded, it turns out she has been suffering in a marriage that has not been as intimate as she would like and with a husband who is more comfortable in sweat pants than a nice pair of jeans and a button down shirt. So she went looking for the attention she wanted elsewhere intending to stay married and cheat instead of getting a divorce. She had her fun for a while, but she got sloppy and eventually left a trail of internet cache that exposed her other activities. Her husband has immediately filed for a divorce, which is certainly within his rights..... but all the same, I think this is another case of two people who could have stayed together if they had only agreed to keep dating each other after they were married. Once you're married, if you're not courting your wife anymore, then you're basically welching on a deal. Much the same as you expect her to look skinny and tight in all the right places while you pig out on ribs-n-pie, she expects that at the very least you will occaisionally date her. Court her. Tell her she's pretty. Open a door. Otherwise, just like when the two of you weren't married, something better may come along. In this day and age, a new lover is as close as your keyboard. Of course there are prices to be paid for straying, but it must be worth the risk because enough people are doing it. Too bad they won't funnel that energy into saving what they have.

I've been on and off this site several times over the past couple years. I get worried about getting caught, but not by my wife. The risk is intoxicating as she's about five minutes away as I type now...

That is sage advice, and I have been around long enough to know it...

(coulda used it when I was young and naive)

WoW! Great attitude with brains! I think I'll place a pointer from my blog to yours...and refer any serious "suitors" to it. I'm hopeful that I will someday find the one that enjoys keeping a relationship fresh and fun, while being as respectful as when we first met.
