Have you heard the one about the Pig and the Pole Dancer?

I had a very interesting date Thursday night. And I mean the good variety of interesting. A very smart, funny and cute gentleman asked me to meet him for drinks in the city. We met at this fabulous dive in Hell's Kitchen called Rudy's. Great music! They have the cutest 4' papier mache pig outside next to the door, free hot dogs and BOY can that bartender mix a Kamikaze! Oh yeah, this place is also known for their $8 pitcher of Rudy's Red, the house brew.

Well we had a couple of drinks and great conversation, which I was worried about but we had a lot to talk about, and at one point "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leppard was playing. I told my date what an awsome song that is and that I consider it a great pole dancing song. Somehow from that comment he came up with the idea of going to a strip club. I had never been to one and I was curious to see what it was like, so I said WHY NOT!!

It was a bit of a shock to see so many (tee hee) nekkid women in one room but not run-out-of-the-room-screaming "I see nekkid people" shock so it wore off quickly. At first my instinct was to look away from the bare flesh, much as you would courteously turn away when a friend decides to get undressed for a shower or change in front of you. But then I realized "HEY its OK to look at them...that's what they get paid for!"

Well we had a couple of drinks and watched the girls dancing on the stage and giving lap dances. it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The conversation continued. We were still having a great time! He asked if I would like a lapdance. I declined and told him to go ahead and get one. He told me that they also gave backrubs.

I got a backrub while he got a lapdance. The backrub was GREAT! This woman is actually a massage therapist in a corset. Not just a stripper feeling you up. This place was not at all what I expected and if a man ever suggests going to a strip club I would definitely go again!

The whole point of this story is...I FINALLY HAD A GOOD DATE!!! Oh yeah and he called the next day AND I still hear from him on IM. No I'm not saying I 'caught me a man' but its nice to finally have a good date with a great guy and still hear from him for once.

Excellent. Glad you had a good date

Until a yr ago, I hadn't been to a strip club since '91; I didn't enjoy it, and didn't want to be associated with the guys who frequented them.

Then I went with a date. It was pretty cool, and I felt like I wasn't contributing as much to the exploitation of the dancers (I can never leave the political out of it). We went back several times, it was always fun & sexy.

Rudy's is cool, but you will have more fun at Yogi's on Broadway and 76th Street... with me, hopefully. Body shots of bourbon from a barmaid's waxed navel, or shots of slippery nipple served, well, from betwixt the ample breasts of another barmaid. Older and newer country music (you get into it surprisingly fast) from a juke box, and good-humored locals. What do you think, Cutey? Is it a date?
