For You.....

Lay your head down
And sleep on my shoulder
Lay your head down
And start a new dream

And for tonight the moment is over
Drift in a lullaby
Here where the stars reside
And angels are always seen

Lay your head down
The stars they have whispered
Hear what they say
And know that it means

The moon is your guide
The stars they have kissed her
As she goes gently by
Light as a baby's sigh
Safe on a fairytale stream

And start a new dream
~Nightwish

I know that you will find this and know that it is yours. You know that song and you know it's meaning. The notes will echo in remembered melodies and you will know I am there. Your grief sears at my soul and to be beside you in comfort now is my heart's deepest wish.

Feel me across the miles, reaching out to pull you close. The soft warmth of my skin as you rest against my shoulder, safe here now. My fingers through your hair, soothing, calming. Just breathe, dearest, and let it go. No strength or quiet stoicism needed here. Scream, rage and sob...I'll hold you. I won't waver or break under the force of your grief. Just kiss your forehead and hold you tighter.

I like it when you kiss my forehead and hold me tighter.

I am not dead yet

Beautiful....and you just seem to know what the right thing to say is...and how to console when that is what is needed.

this is so powerful and loving. I feel like a voyeur here...but I so admire the strength of feeling in those words.

My heart goes out to whoever you wrote this for. As someone still recovering from a recent loss, your words touched the center of my soul...you are a truly loving and caring woman, and someone is very lucky to have you thinking of them.

"Scream, rage and sob...I'll hold you. I won't waver or break under the force of your grief. " ... incredible words that seek and draw out those feelings - taking one in a cup of love far from the rest of the world - but near to the heart... wrapped in warmth and safety...

What a gift...

It's always good to know you have someone to count on when things are bad. Acceptance.
Beautiful.

Healing, while held in your nurturing embrace
after the sadness comes the light
to start a new dream, for dreams come true.

p.s. I wasn't familiar with the song or the band so I ran a search on them. Pretty song and Nightwish is awesome!!!

Yes, they are! One of my favorite groups...so much variety in their music.

It does take a lot of strength to be held.

It takes something to divine, to hold them the right way.

My response to you all:
I tried to go through and leave individual comments to you, but this one was really close to my heart and it was hard respond to your comments. Not quite sure why...just was.
So to you all, thank you so much for your kind words. I was just speaking as a concerned friend, heartbroken for the pain someone is still feeling. I wasn't asking for your support...but you gave it anyway. When I arrived at the hospital to see him, I wasn't sure if my words and embrace would be comfort enough. Came back still doubting if I had made enough of a difference. But then I logged in here and read all of you telling me that the comfort I offered him was the right thing to do and it eased my worry. Thank you all.
