Drunken, naked jet-skiing

The story of my Memorial Day...

My cousin's family has a huge, million dollar houseboat and we usually all spend Memorial Day out there on the lake with a few other families. But this year, her parents where going to be out of town. Not a problem, they still let us "young people" take the boat out. So she invited...*counts under her breath*....17 people to go out for the weekend.
Go out Saturday morning, towing the ski boat and the jet skis, stocked up with mountains of food and a crazy amount of alcohol. There is a cove that is "ours"...four or five other families usually pull up their houseboats and we all hang out for the weekend. We pull all the boats together so that you can just hop between them.

Spent most of Sunday water-skiing and tubing. There is a really great picture on someones camera of me and three other girls getting thrown up in the air because we were pulling three tubes behind the boat and my cousin has a thing for making tight turns. All the tubes slammed into each other (his intention of course) and we all went flying.

Anyway, so the whole naked jet-ski thing...

There is a point that has always been a big hang out spot on Memorial Day weekend, so all of us took the jet skis out there Sunday night. Had a big bonfire, BBQ and more alcohol. There is a big rock overhang out over the water, so of course we were jumping off it. Someone chanting for Cass to jump topless, she did and everyone else sorta followed. There were a bunch of us girls who were in the water and the guys decided that it was their societal duty to come after us and pull swimsuits off. So by the end of the melee everyone is missing at least one article of clothing.

Now, there happens to be a curfew on this part of the lake, so the police boats come around at 1am and make sure everyone is gone. Not a problem...they would have just asked us to leave...except that we are naked, drunk, several of us under 21 (most of us without ID's anyway) and certainly in no shape to be driving boats and jet-skis around. Well, the cops were stupid and came out with only two boats. They were using their searchlights and we saw them when they were still a good ways down from us.
Instant panic.
Grab the stuff, throw it in the boats, grab clothes, (if you could find them...the pants I had been wearing over my suit never showed up) and jump onto the nearest boat or ski that was headed back in the same general direction that you needed to go.
It was absolute chaos...remember, there are probably close to 50 or 60 people out there, 40 or so boats and skis and everyone going in all directions.
Cass and I found our jet ski and took off. Everyone was running by moonlight with their lights off. I had managed to get my suit bottom back on while heading for the ski, but gave up on trying to re-tie my top while flying across the water in the dark...but damn, that was cold.
Anyway, they caught a few people, but all of our group made it back to the cove without being followed.

The pic is us out on the boat on Sunday afternoon. That's me in the red and Cass sitting next to me.

Sigh ... to be young again ... We used to rent a houseboat at a lake up north of us, throw rowdy parties. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

You're welcome.
We had a great time.

I totally don't understand why there isn't a nakie picture of you up there instead

curious082385 replies on 6/1/2006 2:04 am:
Reason 1) Cuz cameras don't work so well in the dark and don't like water, so most people don't bring expensive ones with them on jet skis

2) I was in the water and any shot taken of me would have only been my shoulders

3) Still working on my tan, so using the flash would have just resulted in a blinding light that probably would have killed the camera lens

It sounds like you really had a great weekend.....and glad you weren't one of the ones the cops caught!

curious082385 replies on 5/31/2006 6:52 am:
The cops have never caught me!

Ok, so there was that one time when they thought I was a thieving, run-away, ward of the state.....
Hmm, might have to blog that one sometime.

Jeez, the things I missed out on because none of my cousins had a million dollar house boat. Lazy sods.

curious082385 replies on 6/1/2006 2:07 am:
Yeah...we've had some good times on that houseboat.

I think the cops were pretty smart, actually.

(LOVED the story, btw)

Well, true...their objective WAS just to break up the party and get us out of there and they certainly did that. Although they were also saying how they wanted to crack down on the underage drinking out there, so they may have really wanted to catch us.

That brings up memories. I had a friend in my late teens who had a cabin on the lake. Most of the activities you mention took place. Aaaah, the memories. Perhaps time to make some new ones. Great story!

When we were little my (single) mother took night classes. She would pull up out front around ten or eleven p.m. and would always gun the engine before turning the car off. My three siblings and I would hear the engine and scramble to get to bed before she came in the front door.

Of course years later I found out that my mother was gunning her engine in order to warn us she was home because she didn't want to deal with the hassle of catching and punishing us.

Maybe the police were so clumsy with you guys because they didn't want to deal with the hassle of catching you.

I could be wrong. I don't think like a policeperson.

So... did you fool around on this boat trip or what? Come on, Church Mouse, fill us in...

curious082385 replies on 6/1/2006 2:11 am:
Actually for only having two boats out there, they caught quite a few people. Apparently one boat stayed behind and got everyone who didn't make it off the shore in time. The other boat took off after the biggest group and followed them back to where they were camped and (i'm assuming) arrested them there.

You said it was cold when you were returning across the water...hope you didn't freeze anything vital....or do you require some warming up?

curious082385 replies on 6/1/2006 2:15 am:
LOL...you seem to be the only one who picked up on that bit. Actually, as fun as it may sound, I don't recommend nude jet-skiing. Not only was it really, really cold with the spray being kicked up in your face, but the water wasn't smooth...it was choppy and kind of a bumpy ride....and, well yeah....remember the part about no top on?? *blush* It hurt.

Ok, laughing my ass off at the thought of you being a church mouse. Although I could see where the thought comes from. Thoughts you share here are from your deepest heart, not from the smartass, wild child that you can be.
