Moving & golfing

Called up a friend last night (same that getting married in Maine in Sept) ... found out him and his fiance were moving that night (& today) ... so me being me I went over to help - moving things can be fun .

Anyway got the trailer loaded last night and later today we'll actually be moving their stuff to the new place, so this morning I went golfing with him and a couple other guys .... a first for me wasn't just too bad, though I thinkit would have been more fun if we'd not had a group right behind us moving that played well and a group in front of us that wasn't... so it felt kind of like a hurry up and wait at points. Granted we probably could have just taken our time ...but I think it would have been a bit faster - with more screwing around....

.....

I guess part of it reminds me why I don't get out much either because after loading last night we went out to eat and have a few brews... I don't think I'm going to be buying steak any where that it doesn't cost an arm and leg anymore ... I mean there's really no point to pay $13 bucks and get a steak that really isn't that good ..... granted I may be biased since I've learned how to make a good steak ... hey, I'll even eat the fat when I make it - the whole steak pretty much melts in your mouth ... then again I usually fry it up with more than a little booze on it and not too fast - otherwise the outside gets charred while the inside doesn't get cooked ...and that just doesn't taste good to me.... which is about what the steak I had last night was like ... and I ordered it medium ... maybe I should have ordered rare.....

I suppose I should expect what I pay for though ...which kind of makes me wonder how I'd rate as a chief ... .... if I've been taught to work with rocket fuel and put stuff in orbit I think cooking shouldn't be that hard ....
