not counting chickens but this looks good so far

the 64m flash drive i had fell apart after being carried around a lot and i really needed one with more capacity anyway. so i looked around and found one at tiger direct for $28.99 with up to a $30 manufacturer's rebate (being of course the maximum price of the drive itself, so $28.99) and a $9 rebate through tiger direct.... and while the manufacturer wants the original sales receipt, tiger will accept a photocopy with the original UPC code.

with the manufacturer i had to sign up for a trial free month of a service which i can call and discontinue now that they made sure i signed up and sent me the rebate form. so i'm really enjoying my new 1G encrypted flash drive that i'm going to be paid $9 for buying.....

tiger direct doesn't mention the manufacturer's rebate but it was on the package and the files to redeem it come loaded on the drive.

the tiger direct rebate says you have to buy it before june 26 and mail your rebate info by july 26th and the manufacturer's rebate says you have to sign up for their service and wait a couple of days to get the rebate info and then postmark it by june 30th. (but i already have the form to get out to send it in time to be postmarked) and then you have 30 days to cancel the privacyguard service to avoid the $12.97 monthly fee.

Sounds like a great deal. Of course, I never end up falling into a deal like that.
