Let's have some peace..

Yesterday I stayed home, put my feet up and watched movies all day long. It was a welcome relief from the hectic pace of the past 3 months. My mind went numb around the 8th hour and 4th movie. Prior to that, I gave this little blog of my mine some thought.

I am happy with the modest blog I have created. I even have a few regular visitors. The others seem to change like the ebb of the river, a constant stream that changes direction often.
Whether regulars or "peekaboos", I appreciate each the same.

I know there has been alot of talk about the lists here recently. I will say I am glad I am NOT on the list. In fact, my intention is never to make the list. Here's why:

#1: I have no intention of turning my back on any of the friends I have made on here in order to go with the "popular crowd".

#2: The pressure of maintaining that spot is a little more than I want to deal with. I have enough pressure at work as a manager.

#3: My life is fulfilled through my son, my friends and my family, not a list that changes based on the posts I write. When the list implodes, they are still going to be there.

#4: I will not ignore those that comment in any of my posts, just because they aren't in my "inner circle". My circle is non denominational.

Which leads me to my statement on all of this drama out there in Blogland. There are going to be people that piss you off, that's life. Their words will sting, their actions will betray and their hearts will be in the wrong place. But it is how YOU handle those situations that makes all the difference. You can either turn the other cheek or you can react to it.

I am not going to name specifics in any piece of this entry. I am a silent observer in most cases and do not feel qualified to comment on it, nor do I have the desire to do so. But I have seen those that were once friends become enemies and I think that is a real shame.

Blogging is not real life. Most of us will probably never even meet. Still we are a blogging community and we should do what a community does best, stand together.

If you are blogging for any other reasons other than honing your writing skills, sharing your stories, curing your loneliness or making friends, you are probably not blogging for the right reasons. If I want drama, I can turn on the news.

We've lost a ton of talented bloggers in the last few months. Please let's band together as a community so we don't lose anymore. We are all here for the same reason because we love to blog. Please don't let that be the death of us.

Thank you for listening and this concludes this broadcast..

Dash, yes we have made some great friendships haven't we?! It's a shame I see it go to hell from time to time over all this stupid blog stuff and the lists. Just wanted to take my little blog and make a statement.

It kind of reminds one of high school at times, doesn't it? All the little cliques and groups and such.

I have a small group of blogs that I love to read and make comments too. Once you go above a group of ten, it becomes too cumbersome to interact and enjoy the writers. I pick blogs based on content and it's emotive value. It is what I hope people come to my blog for.

And every now and then, I take an evening and go "blog hunting" for other fresh and interesting writers.

Fallic, glad you came hunting to my little blog..welcome!

Yes, I do agree about the HS drama. Similar to the exact reason I dropped out of the popular crowd in Jr High. Drama is not my strong suite.

This is my first visit here. I haven't been blogging very long, but it has blown my mind how upset people get with each other, how seriously they take this stuff. You're right, it's not real life. I do enjoy it as a form of entertainment, and I enjoy making "friends". I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feels this way.
