Independent Women

To add a final comment to my last post, I'd like to quote Psychologist Meredith Fuller:

"It makes sense that successful, independent women are more able to negotiate the type of relationships they want. They don't necessarily need a secure, slightly older guy whos the big provider, they can do that themselves. What they are looking for instead is a vibrant and emotional connection that encompasses vitality, passion, intimacy and shared interests."

Amen.

They don't have Confident as a mood choice, but that's what I feel.

I think that's true to a certain degree. I still see many women clinging to traditional roles and monogamous marriage when other alternatives exist. Of course, it could be debated that these values ARE what sucessful, independent women want.

Thanks for adding that. I agree with Dr. Fuller's conclusion and our society benefits as a whole when women are allowed to FULLY utilize their many talents.

Societies that suppress their womenfolk have cut out 50% of the talent pool. They are generally backward in development. They have poor, agaraian based economies and are slow to improve. There is a DIRECT CORRELATION between economic development and the freedom of women in my opinion.

You go girls! All of us are better off when y'all do.
