Better late than never.

I was going to mention 9/11 on the tenth but figured maybe not .
Well after reading all the various blogs about the event I am compelled to have my say.

We on the other side of the world were not directly affected in the horrific events and aftermath of that infamous day.
What I can say though is we as freedom loving people were not only incensed but our hearts went out to all that were affected by the horror of the day.
The people closest to the events, rescuers and the families and relatives of the lost we mourned along with you.
That an event so abhorrent as this can be carried out in the name of the almighty is a blight on all that hold religion in high esteem.
The lives will not be replaced and the living will go on with an emptyness in their hearts that will never be filled.

We have a poem that was I believe, penned on the fields of Flanders back in the first world war to honour our dead and excuse the mistakes but it goes like this.

"They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the mornings we will remember them."

I believe this sentiment is fitting for those that have lost their lives in all terrorist attacks throughout the world but more so for those unsuspecting people caught up in what the world has come to know as 9/11.

May they rest in peace.
