Why do guys set up a meet but not follow through?

I've talked to a few guys here and I find more times then not they want to meet. However, after it up to meet they tend not to follow through. I know some women may do the same but not me. So why do guys back out? Are they married and can't get away from the wife? Do they read your profile again and realize they aren't getting any on the first meet and change their minds. Any ideas people I'de love to know

I can't really speak for everyone but it may just be cold feet. This is a very different way to meet people versus the more traditional ways. It can be frightening to go out on a Blind Date, even with someone you know vouching for the person you're about to meet. Meeting someone from here essentially boils down to a Blind Date situation but without the good word from a mutual friend. The Unknown is what we're all afraid of.

But, then again, I'm the only guy that I can personally speak for and I apparently don't really represent the common cross-section of males since I'm *not* looking for sex on a first meeting and actually looking for a relationship with someone that I can be friends with and find things in common. Unfortunately, I also don't look like Mel Gibson or Johhny Depp so most women will never give me a 2nd look.

However, for those guys that do look like that...they're probably very interested in what they can get on a first meeting. Funny how that works.

In any case, my best guess is either your first thought (no sex) or mine (cold feet) or maybe some combination of the two. For what it's worth.
