Water...Cool Clear Water.

ABOUT DRINKING WATER

The following will probably amaze and startle you...

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

(No kidding, all of the above is true...)

Of course, too much water may have strange side effects (see picture)

Interesting stuff, Bard.

I drink at least a gallon of water a day, and have for years. But, other than the fact that I have to pee a million times a day, nothing else about me physically has changed...

I think Ive been cheated!!!!!

You have to drink twice as much wine to get half the benefits. Only with too much wine you end up with me on your chest instead of really large hooters.

It’s really hard to distinguish symptoms of “water intoxication” from those of dehydration: muscle cramps, confusion, nausea, inappropriate behavior, slurred speech, and disorientation. http://AdultFriendFinder.com

All along I thought my 38D's were due to genetics.

I now know my behavorial issues are related to H20.
I now know my Tourette bouts are only related to me trying to figure out if I am on AdultFriendFinder blogs or feeding my goat.
Now I see that all of my problems are due to my water consumption....Bless you Bardic!...you are my savior!...I shall quit drinking that nasty concoction of hyrogen and oxygen.

What was it that W.C Fields said about water???

I usually drink 3 to 4 liters (quarts) of water daily. When it really gets hot in Phoenix, I'll drink at least a gallon of water or else I feel dehydrated. And it's all tap water, no bottled water for me - it tastes like plastic.

bardicman replies on 5/1/2006 7:34 am:
Paul, I have always believed that bottled water is just tap water with an expensive name

Bard....I've been drinking alot more water than usual per docs orders getting ready for the surgery May 9th. Why do you have to wait until Jan 07 for your surgery? Sorry....just nosey.

bardicman replies on 5/1/2006 7:36 am:
Angel, My hernia's cause me some discomfort and pain and limit the amount I can lift but there is nothing life threatening about them. In january my insurance will cover the surgery. I am waiting because I do not want to lose 5 grand on something that is not life threatening. If the status changed I would be in tomorrow.

Another reason to drink enough water is you can get kidney stones from dehydration. I learned that the hard way. As I was writhing in agony and going into shock from the pain in the ER isolation room so my screams wouldn't disturb the other patients, I asked the nurse hooking up the IV how women manage to give birth, as we've always been told that's the worst pain possible. She looked at me and said, "Oh honey, a kidney stone is the worst pain known to humanity. My best friend has had four children and one kidney stone. She said she would rather have four more kids than ever have a kidney stone again."

Two shots of dilaudid later, I was still in pain, but no longer screaming. As I said, I learned the hard way.

bardicman replies on 5/1/2006 7:48 am:
OUCH,, I had the infernal kidney stone once. I pray to god I never get another.

It is the worse pain I have ever felt.

I try to drink lots of water everyday. But I'm fussy and I only drink bottled mineral water, which gets kinda expensive. And its heavy to carry home from the supermarket lol so sometimes I don't drink as much as I should.

bardicman replies on 5/1/2006 7:53 am:
Its cheaper to drink it in the store when no one is looking

Water and coffee are my drinks of choice -- and I go through 46 fl. oz of water minimum daily, not counting the coffee I drink. In the summer, I easily drink twice that amount.

You're right, Bardic.

Hydration is very important, esp for people wanting to lose weight.

It keeps the stomach full which lessens hunger and actually aids in digestion as well.

I tend to takin about 4-5 liters per day...
