Identity crisis

I first started out using computers when being on line meant dialing up a BBS system and paying long distance phone charges. Life was much simpler then. My screen name was Lock and my password was key. Nobody tried hacking your computer, no spam or pop up ad's. Expensive but simple and pure recreation. Then along came the web and AOL. It's much easier to connect with people now, faster too. Along the way people seem to have lost their identities. Even my mother has had several screen names, and nobody tries to simplify life. Wouldn't it be easy to find those long lost friends if they had only one name to search for them under? Just one name they could use for AOL, Yahoo, MSN? Just one name to find them on any service or site? It makes sense to me that one name for one person is the way to go. That is one of the ways I have simplified my life. Who knows, maybe others will figure this out and make life easier for us all.

AMEN! I have a few, only due to AOL's muck up!
