giving credit where credit is due

mom: here is something i thought ya might wanna read.

a+d: (big smiles)awwww anderson cooper always a favorite. reminds me of the one that got away, mom.

mom: what do you mean?

a+d: mom, you know that ole professor and student referendum? my political science professor once asked me for coffee. we clicked. from the moment we sit in the classroom eying each other for 2 hrs after night class, i knew we were attracted to each other. ahh, the subjects we discussed.
looked like anderson, talked like anderson, implicated and reasoned like anderson, even on that personal level, like anderson... mmm
(reminiscing of fall semester '97)

mom: you said "no" cuz of ______, didn't you?

a+d: unfortunately, yes...

mom: regrets?

a+d: (nod head up & down) mom, there's just something attractive 'bout a man defiant of political overviews...i'd have been his undergraduate wet dream cum true, if i'd have known any better !

Q&A with Anderson Cooper-keeping honest, tackling personal demons amid the horrors of iraq and katrina. new book "dispatches from the edge", a style all his own.(Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, 9c)

You're pretty honest about the deaths of your dad and brother...
Loss is a bond that we all have. It's just rarely talked about and there's nothing wrong with talking about it.

But you do have a lighter side, like your affinity for My Super Sweet 16?
Oh yeah, totally. But now i've moved on to Tiara Girls. My God, they should all be lined up and shot. It's fantastic!

Where did 360's"keeping them honest" bits come from? Basically you're calling people on their b.s.
And i dont think there's anything wrong with that. There's so much stuff that's said, and people aren't held accountable for their actions. especially in new orleans, so many people haven't followed up on their promises.

Did you cash in on your celebrity?
Hit a swag lounge and score a free Hugo Boss suit?

[interjecting i have a consumer science/fashion bachelors degree ]
(laughs) Well, i am not accepting any free gifts and i tend to wear Ralph Lauren
[ty Carey Grant for being RL's muse]

You tempted to go Hollywood and book someone like Kevin Federline on 360?
I believe he is now "K-Fed," so we should respect his nom de guerre. (laughs) i don't even know what i would say. I veer away from celebrities.

People's 2005's Sexiest Men Alive, #13
"I am pale and skinny with gray hair," says the host of Anderson Cooper 360ยบ. "I don't get the appeal." But his viewers do. Anderson, 38, is CNN's "Man of the Hour," and his riveting coverage of Hurricane Katrina helped propel his program into a coveted prime-time spot. "I am haunted by people I have met, stories I have told, places I have been. I am changed by all the stories I do."

He's got a very understated sex appeal... very unassuming, no pretentiousness. He comes off as completely comfortable in his own skin, which is tremendiously sexy in and of itself. On top of that, he's not too bad to look at, either... I stamp my approval on him for ya.
