Fried Weenies!

Yesterday, if I could have "fried" the weenies of a few men in my life, I would have. The only one who kind of slipped out of the radar was my husband who very smartly kept a massively low profile along with a huge work load.

My son-in-law....the father of the new baby.....took a friend up to Fredicksburg during the night on be home by morning when the kids got up. Mommy was okay with that as she could easily breast feed the baby during the night by herself. But come Tuesday Daddy. He had decided.....without using his brains.....that instead of coming straight home and going back up on Thursday night to get the friend......he would just stay up there for the day and bring the friend back that night.

So, my daughter got up at 6am when the two year old woke up, and while she was breastfeeding the baby, the two year old pulled a carton of eggs out of the fridge onto the floor where they obviously broke open. Then he poured the Honey Nut Cheerios on top of them. So, I woke up at 7am, after only 2hours of sleep, to my daughter crying hysterically on the other end of the phone. It sent me into such a panic, that I was dressing while trying to get out of her what was wrong. Now, mind you, this is a woman who just had major surgery, a 5day old baby.....and is not allowed to even lift the two year old.

I left immediately, fed my daughter breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen floor, dressed the other two kids, and left with them for the day. I took them to McDonalds for breakfast....and the two year old was already wired! He didn't want to stand quietly with me while I paid and carried the food, so I had to pick him up and juggle the two. So, while we waited to get our drinks from the drink machine, he yanked down my shirt and yelled "boobies!" at the top of his lungs. The man in front of me at the drink machine just turned around and said "nice".

Kids.....they can yank the last ounce of dignity right out of ya, can't they?

Oh! And my son-in-law? He hightailed it home with several new assholes that I verbally tore for him. And the other man who is staying with them for the told by me to clean up the dishes.....that they were all pigs....and if they were going to eat, they should wash the dishes. Handed him the soap and the dishcloth...and left him there to wash the dishes. Fried weenies indeed!

Yikes! I want you in my corner if I'm ever sick! Your poor daughter is really going through it and it sounds as though your son-in-law is learning some important lessons. You're a good Momma!!! {=}

angelofmercy5 replies on 8/23/2006 8:52 am:! You know....he is really a great guy....and I know he was just trying to save gas, etc. But he should have at least called me or someone else to let them know that she would need help in the morning.

Dear, please don't lump all males (men) in the same gender pool. Just like Horse, Mules, and Zebras they are all Equines but are as different as night and day. There are men and there are Men and then there are The MEN, (the extra Special ones). A great deal of differences in the three. I assure you, there are some really good Men left. There are some Men that do call, and do worry about the comfort and care of their loved ones. It's the "men" that don't do a frigging thing ( a sub specie of the Ass family) to deserve being on the same Earth as the MEN and Men that get all males in hot water.

Gotta love kids! Hopefully, when things calm down a little you'll be able to remember this and laugh because it sure sounds like you could use one.

For your daughter's sake and your peace of mind I truely hope this was a learning experience for her husband that doesn't require repeated lessons...

That guy staying with them had better be paying rent or otherwise being useful...

Want me to beat some sense into them? I've got a load of pent-up hositlity needing venting, I'm not too particular about who the target is...

Gosh Sis you don't play. Reminds me of when a 1st cousin after 6 yrs of marriage had a baby and was visiting here(her home)from NC-there she stood holding the baby warming a bottle and her hubby asked her to get something(he was sitting down). It was my nurse aunt's 2nd daughter,my aunt, another female cousin and myself.I asked him"Are you out of your mind?".

Don't worry, be Happy

If I'm reading this right, the newborn is the second or third child for this couple, so ignorance of the trials and tribulations is an implausible excuse for the husband's suddenly extended absence. Maybe he knew it was going to be utter chaos at home and decided an extra day or two away would do him some good, and didn't think about the extra stress it would put on his wife, and you. Hopefully he's learned his lesson.

I'm with you on this one Angel. That little baby girl needs to be a family project. The scene in the McDonald's must have been priceless, of course you were wearing a bra when this happened...right. Tell the truth, did the guy in line get an eyeful?

This is the reason why some of us would rather to never have children, I could care less to deal with them. I see no benefit to having them. For all the cute funny stuff aside, they are a returnless investment, that take large amounts of capital and time.
Its just not worth it.

I'm sorry sweetie that I laughed hysterically at your post.

But you Son-in-law needed a couple new assholes.

Hi Angel,

And how old is your son in law? 5 yrs. old? Thoughtless at best!!!
Can she have a GF or sister or You stay with her for a week or so?
That must be tough for you!!!
I was fortunate both times with my babies, I had a cousin staying with me now remember I adopted mine and I found it exhausting so your daughter with the operation and a 2 year old added on top of it...OMG that is tough!!!!
Hugs, flo

Incidents like that are just one of the reasons I don't want kids. At all. Period. MarcoPolo nailed it right on the head.

However, if your shirt is going to be pulled down and your "boobies" exposed, then they deserve to be admired and appreciated by a more sophisticated audience... like me.

And McDonalds is EVIL! I should know, I work in one for 3+ years. THat's 3+ years of my life I'll never have back.

Angel--you must have surely had your hands full all day! Gotta love those grandbabies, Grandma Angel!!!

Now if it was a MAN that had just given birth like this, and a woman had done something like this--we would never live it down--they wouldn't let us---but then we know WOMEN are not this inconsiderate!

Good thing you are so close by for your daughter Angel. I bet you will get an extra special Mother's Day card next year for this! (Or at least I hope you will!) You are an Angel-Mommy!

This seems to have been another case of a man not using either head to think with!

Hugs to you Angel.

I wonder if your son-in-law and my soon-to-be-ex are related. When my second son was just three weeks old, and the first born was only 21 months, he took off for a three-day weekend with the youth group from church. I still wasn't supposed to be lifting anything over 10 pounds, and my toddler was about 20 pounds then. My sister, who had just become a nurse, ended up coming over to stay with me, otherwise it would have been a long, ugly weekend! Why is it guys just don't think???

Bless you for stepping in and taking the other grandchildren. Just think, someday you'll back at your grandson's comment and laugh. Write it in his baby book so someday HE can laugh about it, too!

Except for being inconsiderate, rude, disrespectful, insensitive and uncaring...your son-in-law seems like a pretty nice guy!

HighpocKets said it very well...ALL men are not like that

We just get dumped into the same catagory sometimes when the opposite gender decides we need our weenies fried and a new asshole's tough in our world too!

Angel...I tried to comment here this morning...but you know how THAT'S gone lately! lol Girl you have had a day of it!!!!! I'm sorry but I absolutely rolled at the visual of your grandson yanking your top down and yelling BOOBIES!!!!!!!! And the man's response was PRICELESS! You can't buy comedy like that! As for your son-in-law....I'm sure he's a really nice guy....who had a HORRIBLE momentary lapse of judgement. Hopefully he won't do that again for a LONG WHILE! After you got through with him (and probably your daughter too) I'm sure he will help out a bit more from now on. Here's hoping things settle down for you soon....although with school starting and you having a heavier teaching load this year....they probably won't right away!! Hang in there!
