The Invisible Man

There's a beautiful book I read some years ago. It's by Ben Okri and is called "Astonishing the Gods".

It's about a character who has always felt invisible, in the negative sense of never being noticed. Through the story he endures rites of passage and integrates new learnings in the process of dicovering a new, deeper, positive meaning to being invisible.

There's a particulalry significant moment in the book for me where the main character "feels the appreciation of the invisibles"

And to a large extent we are all invisible - when you look at me, what do you see? If I look at you, who do I see? What does it take to see the real me or the real you?

And then of course there are all the other Invisibles - past friends, passed friends and family, other beings

Sometimes, I like to take a few moments to feel the presence of the Invisibles in my life.

I read a Ben Okri book some years ago - can't remember for the life of me what it was called but it was about a litle boy in Africa and it was so descriptive.

What does it take to see and know the real me - the REAL you.

I'm going to have to re-visit your blog and level out the commentary field.

On what it takes, A Course in Miracles defines Love as the willingness to see that which is Real in each and every one and every thing, and to ignore everything else.

And I'm inclined to agree.
