I Get It Honestly

I know I have a warped sense of humor, but I get it honestly! I grew up with 3 brothers, 2 older, 1 younger. Being the only girl, you would think I would be treated like a princess. Not so! I was pretty much the 4th brother. I play football with the guys, snickering at the girls who actually RAN like a girl, plowed down more 1st basemen in baseball, fouled the other team in basketball so bad, one kid went home bloody and crying (like a girl!). So I was one of them. They taught me how to mess with people from a very young age. My oldest brother used to wait for the neighbor to come home drunk, which was pretty much a nightly event. His wife would lock him out, and while he was banging on the door, my bro would keep shining a flashlight in his eyes and telling him to "step away from the door, sir". We've put potato salad in peoples shoes, planted bugs of all kinds in their hair, rigged their faucets so they spray them when they turn on the water..you get the picture. When I started studying Spanish, every time I said "Por que?" my father would yell "Butter!" I think my fave was when I wrote a letter to my dad's boss. I told him he was lame because he made my dad work so many hours and that I didn't appreciate him calling during our dinner hour. I slipped it into dad's briefcase and when he saw it the next morning at work, he thought I must have written a "nice little note" so he gave it to him. Oh yeah, that went over big at home. And when dad had a client over one night, I kept standing in front of them balancing a box of Kotex pads on my head. My mom was so embarrassed! My brothers got me back alot though. When I was still pretty little, they convinced me that a bra is worn outside your shirt. So I wore it that way in front of their friends. Tit for tat! If you've read my earlier blogs, you know I painted my husbands toenails while he slept one night. Well mom is responsible for that one. She was doing her nails in bed and dad was sleeping. So she did his too. He didn't even notice until he got to work. The boss just looked at him and said "Nice. Did your kid do that too?" Can't take me anywhere!
