You Want Fries With That?

You guys know I hate housework, right? You know that if I had enough money I'd hire someone to clean my house for me cause I have this aversion to vacuum cleaners and Comet. I also have an aversion to being broke so I think I'll just stick with my plan.

I'm out of groceries, it's so bad that I was eating saltine crackers by themselves as a snack. Yuck.

So here's the plan. I decided to invite Rocky over for supper. Its been a long time since he's been here, mainly because he actually has a TV and I don't and you know how a guy is without television.

So before Rocky gets here, the whole house will be spic and span and I will have gone to the grocery store. I'll check back from time to time to see if anyone has answered this... If you were invited to my house for supper, what kind of would you hope that I had prepared?

If it's me that's coming over:

#1 Relax - don't burn energy on housework that could be used on alternative activities later. Sometimes you can eat off the floor in my home - sometimes I wear a bio-hazard suit to walk in the door.

#2 Lobster or peanut butter and jelly, your pick - I'm there to spend time with you - not judge your culinary talents.

#3 If your trying to win my heart and make a good impression - just be yourself, because I'm gonna find out sooner or later anyway.

1) I can completely relate to.

2) I've never cooked lobster, will shrimp do instead?

3) I'm usually myself, a restrained version of the person who is writing this blog. Mac

Hmmm...I guess it depends. I've always been partial to chicken marsala. But a simple grilled steak and baked potato, or pasta dish would be yummy too. Lasagna and salad? Take-out pizza is always fine, too He's your friend, he won't care.

I had steak and a baked potato, he did too, but he also had two bratwursts to go along with it. Uncircumcized dead guy dicks...that's what they look like! YUCK

Here is a thought. How about someone making dinner for you?
I know that could be scary but some guys can cook.

I know lots of guys that can cook. However, when you have a friend that's a bachelor and has no one to cook for him... he has a bro and sisinlaw here but she rarely cooks, parents in AZ... I'll cook for him every once in a while. I love to cook and to me it's a treat to cook for someone.

It's this long drawn out story about Mac moving to California about 3 years ago to be with "the man of her dreams". Mac gfave her daughter her HUGE ass TV because she though Mr Wonderful had an even bigger one cause that's what he said. Daughter is at college with said TV which will be coming back to Mac at the end of the summer

Well, if *I* were coming over, I would make an entirely different menu suggestion. Since it's just Rocky, he'll be just fine with a burger and some baked beans out of the can. Maybe an ear of sweet corn.

Or, you could just have him swing by BK on the way over.

I read your comment to Rocky when he was here. His comment was "Geez, how much do these people know about me?" My reply was oh, it's only TJ

I like the pizza idea, but home cooked would be better. I do have a TV, but I haven't had anything but 'rabbit ears' for reception for nearly seven years. Also, I watch much less TV since I got my computer in October 2005.

yes, I agree homecooked is mucho better.

I'll settle for grilled lamb chops, medium well, mashed potatoes with rosemary, a mixed green salad with tomatoes and feta cheese, and New York style cheesecake without fruit for dessert. What time should I be there????

Also, I lived without a TV for 14 years so I'm sure that I can survive for one evening without one. How good is your sound system?

I used to use that method to make myself clean and cook. But lately, I've just ended up cancelling to avoid it.

Fresh wild salmon marinated in soy, ginger, a sprig of tarragon ansd a pinch or two of cayenne; a baked russet potato with buttere, salt/pepper and chives and aspagras spears (thin if you can get them)partially cooked with some soy added and finished off on the grill which we accompany with lots of champagne. (You're supplying the place so I'll bring the fixin's)

No TV? Great! What we will do is cut up a ripe cantalope, some watrermelon and peaches, put them in our champagne and feed them to each other making sure our fingers, slippery with juice, slide in and out of each other's mouth..........I think insperation will take over from there

How 'bout I supply the place, you cook! You know in the south, the salmon would ground up, shaped into patties, floured and fried!

"How 'bout I supply the place, you cook! You know in the south, the salmon would ground up, shaped into patties, floured and fried!"

Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!....and likely with grits, brains and mountain oysters. I lived in Atlanta for a number of years and married a girl from Smyrna when it was the sticks. Good people in the South, love that Southern Hospitality, but lotta folks, when they pass a certain age tend to start looking like deep fried chicken. Speaking of Southern Hospitality, what are you going to be doing while I cook the salmon?

absolutelynormal replies on 7/16/2006 9:03 am:
Well watching you cook of course

If you were invited to my house for supper, what kind of would you hope that I had prepared? First I must say I am impressed did you intentionally misspell wood (would) Then I would say something along the lines of a nice 20-25 yr old elm tree

all said with a sheepish grin on his face

I would like to have something simple like grilled cheese on wheat. Then we could have more time to share our company
